the 1st annual award for the most theatrical dive of the year

Welcome to the 2014 Fallon d'Floor. We have selected six glorious dives from the past year for your entertainment.

Not all dives are created equal. Vote for the most theatrical nomination, weighing more importance if the dive decided the outcome of an important game. One vote per household per week.

Your nominees are...

Any other examples from 2014 come to mind?

World top six shortlister...

List could be better, Robyn's shouldn't even be on there. The dives coming from English players in the English Premiership over the last year top many of those on the shortlist.

There was one in the BPL at the weekend and for the life of me can't remember who it was. It was a fucking woeful dive though. He even gave the ref a wee pat on the back sheepishly.

You're thinking of West Brom's Pocognoli vs Aston Villa - he sprung up and twisted in midair.

Terrible dive, funny reaction.

Daniel Jones of Chesterfield was admittedly fouled earlier this season but if it's theatrical reactions you're after then this is one of the best. He gets extra points for twice being able to look up to see what the ref's doing whilst simultaneously suffering a career threatening injury and break dancing.

Needless to say he completed the match.

Looked a sore one, but still

It isn't this year, but one of my favourite dives is Ayr United's Michael McGowan in this video. It's not so much the dive itself, which really is awful, it's more the seething reaction he gives when he doesn't get a penalty. 2:15 in.

Brian Graham and Eddie Malone also touch heads and have a roll around at 1:25, Crawford Allan makes the worst penalty decision everat 4 minutes, and Damien Casalinuovo sparks a pitch invasion at 4:35.

Good game.
