Appeal procedure

I see the linlithgow goalie got off with his sending off last week as the ref made an error when writing the report. It would be interesting to find out if linlithgow had actually appealed the sending off.If they had done all I can say is the league is blatantly guilty of favoring the so called bigger teams. This was proved by the scandalous decision to give Ross Donnelly of fauldhouse a 5 game suspension for appealing his red card against musselburgh. I would like to know what the disciplinary committee actually do when an appeal is submitted. Do they speak to anybody else apart from the ref that was at the game? If they did they would see the ref is a liar. He said the burgh player involved needed treatment which didn't happen. Also the same player was bragging on Facebook that you need to do whatever it takes to win a game. This to me admits he cheated.

I heard that the referee's mistake was to put the wrong player number down for the offence. If that is the case, then Linlithgow would be perfectly correct to appeal that report, as the wrong player would be getting punished. It's up to the referee to make sure his report at the end of a game correctly reflects the events of what happened on the pitch and the decisions he made.

If thats the case why was nothing done when penicuick filled in both teamsheets wrongly against fauldhouse earlier in the season. Fauldhouse were told it was an error and had no grounds to appeal. Penicuick had a guy playing number 5 who wasn't marked on either teamsheet.what's the difference between a club secretary and a ref making a mistake?

The West put their discipline/appeals on the website and its amazing, if I'm reading it right, how many guys get off with it because the ref has put down the wrong number or name.

Maybe literacy and numeracy lessons for Xmas for referees.

The ref in the Darvel v Dalry game must have had a bad day at the office!

Nothing new Linlithgow winning something on a technicality. They've been using loopholes for as long as I can remember and even won a league title on a technicality.

We have been known to lose one on a technicality. I think it's important to understand that you're talking utter shite. Carry on now.

So I'm a roaster because I've pointed out something that everyone involved in junior football in the east already knew. If your a so called big team the league will do everything to help you but if your a smaller club your treated as dirt and this was proved by the treatment of Ross donnelly. A 5 game ban for a tackle is a joke and this was the leagues way of basically saying the smaller sides needn't waste their time. You would have thought they would be trying to help the regions teams in the Scottish cup not make sure he's suspended for the next round in January. Would never happen to a "big team" player.

dont think the five game ban was for a tackle.

As far as I know any appeal the region views as wasting their time (i.e. frivilous) will result in a lengthened ban. Unless the ref turns round to say 'I was wrong, it wasn't such and such' then it stands, and the ban will be extended.

I don't disagree with that as there has to be something in place to stop clubs appealing any red card on the off-chance it's overturned. Unless video evidence is highly supportive (for example, showing mistaken identity) it would appear to be a high risk strategy to appeal.
