rules on venues

Can anyone tell me the Lowland League rules for a clubs Home games.

My query really concerns clubs that groundshare but I suppose if the rules permit then a switch of venue could really apply to any team.

Earlier this season BSC v Stirling Uni. was played at East Kilbride.

Today on another thread it suggests that BSC v Whitehill was planned for Airdrie owing to their 'home' pitch being waterlogged.

Using these as an example,

Stirling Uni. v Threave (League) 10/01/15

Stirling Uni. v Edin. City (South Cup) 14/02/15

both these games clash with Stirling Albion home games, as Albion have priority could the University

play these games at the Gannochy (University Sports ground)

I think that league games are supposed to be played at the home ground, unless it's unavailable. Stirling have played a Monday game (v Edinburgh City) and a Sunday game (v Albion Rovers) since moving into Forthbank to avoid clashes. Not sure if they could move a league game to Gannochy, it's neither a LL venue or a licensed venue... would they be using Forthbank at all if they could play off Gannochy?

However, the South Challenge Cup tie will be at Gannochy - that's their registered ground with the EOSFA & League & for the South Challenge Cup. This was highlighted last season, I recall the thread around the same time as the Alex Jack Cup dispute (no doubt Gretna fans could be found in a state of semi-indignation)... They played Tynecastle on Gannochy in this competition last season.

No idea about sectional games in LL Cup. At the end of the day they're largely being used as "filler" whilst there are still fewer than 16 clubs and the corresponding 30 league games. In the similar EOS Qualifying League games occasionally end-up at all kinds of places, or even get reversed (if the rest of the group agrees apparently).

I understand the uni facilities were deemed unsuitable for use in the Lowland League, hence why they play at Forthbank. The main Gannochy pitch has been used for at least one Scottish Cup game in the past however. Not sure how it would work with charging admission etc. as there isn't a perimeter fence or anything right now.

They were charging at the gate last time Gretna played at the Gannochy. Although if you really wanted you could find a around the gate. I seem to remember some Whitehill fans indivertibly doing just that the last time Welfare played there.

Was that the day we won the championship :P

Did nae realise you were there cico ol chap :)

it was hardly a gate if i recall just a table and bucket at end of the path.

There were many ways of getting round it but the hoardes o ww fans :D paid in the end and if i remember it was lashing doon. (nae cover as well :o)

Security and shelter defo needs upgrading up there cracking playing surface though.

Might be difficult with the current facilities, one pitch has a running track around it so any shelter would be miles away from the action and there isn't much space around the 3G.

Interestingly, Heriot Watt got awarded National Performance Centre for Sport ahead of Stirling and are in the process of laying a full sized pitch with the same surface as Hampden and 500 seats. Something like that would have been ideal for the uni in the Lowland League.

Bring back the Gannochy. The gopher was like Benny hill chasing round after Welfare supporters sneaking in every hole in the fence hedge wall.

LOL Benny Hill! Don't think so.

Jack from Still Game would be more an alike, maybe the Gopher ran about like Benny Hill in his younger days like the early 1960's

but he can only draw up memories of those days now!
