Gronie
Fairly certain he'll romp home in the Gordon seat. I'd have liked him to stand for Aberdeen North ( which would have been winnable) or South ( which might have been dodgier)

ecto
Yeah coz he has a long history of playing it safe. Whether he has or not have a history of "playing it safe" is neither here or there, but you have to agree he has this time played it "mega" safe by contesting this seat

betting competition
Whether he has or not have a history of "playing it safe" is neither here or there, but you have to agree he has this time played it "mega" safe by contesting this seat He has never had a history of playing it safe bit of a gambling man. I would disagree that it is mega safe either Lib Dems have a 7,000 majority on the seat and SNP only in the last election moved into 2nd place just ahead of Labour but the Tories was close to getting this seat in the past until boundary changes. Also remember Aberdeenshire voted 60% for No.
vikingTON
It's both a large Lib Dem majority but an obviously winnable seat for a big gun like Salmond: the only issue he might face is tactical voting by seething unionists to try and keep him out. He'll win anyway, as part of a huge set of SNP gains. That's barely even in doubt now.
Mr Bairn
I would love it, LOVE IT, if the Lib Dems hold this seat.
Ira Gaines
He should go the easiest seat possible to ensure he can get into parliament and make a difference. Why is there even a debate about it?
sparky88
Only difference salmond will make by standing for a Westminster seat is to his salary. He's just treating the house of commons as most former MPs treat the house of lords.
Mr Bairn
The same Alex Salmond who donated his pension to charity? Definitely motivated by money that man... Let's be honest that was a publicity stunt.
