Given the disputes last weekend... after extra-time?!?!

Match kicked off at 7:30. Debian posted the result at 9:31. I cannot see how extra time was played.

If no extra time was played, there will have to be a replay. Rules are rules we were told last year.

This is Scottish football, Cicero. "Not all rules are created equal"... "D&G is like a foreign country: they do things differently there"...

Rules are different in the Southern Counties FA competitions: there, the referee has discretion to take games straight into penalties. It's a provision intended to allow for weekend ties without floodlights (i.e. if daylight will run-out) - for whatever reason they don't kick-off early like in EOS FA. However, rather strange if it gets used for evening ties under floodlights, IMO.

It can be potentially controversial when one team has fewer players, i.e. might struggle to hold-out another 30mins.

(Maybe it's what confused your ref v Stirling?).

Over on SOS league sub-forum you'll see a few threads about an apparent controversy surrounding last week's Haig Gordon Cup SFs, e.g.:

Both finished tied at 90 minutes... Newton Stewart-Crichton played extra-time... Wigtown-Fleet was taken straight to penalties, which Wigtown (who were down to 9 men) won.

Anyway, congratulations to Newton Stewart however the outcome was reached. Rare victory for lower-leveller v LL opponents.

EDIT: Actually, that would make it even more odd - as Newton Stewart used their floodlights to play extra-time on Saturday. Ach, who knows!!
