Rangers v Raith Rovers

A decent draw for Rangers but anybody who has watched them over the last couple of years will know better than to take anything for granted!

Shame to see the Raith Rovers support so down about the game and some saying they are going to watch the Spartans game instead which seems bizarre to say the least. Surely you would want to at least watch your own team play either on the TV or online?

I can only speak for myself but if any support stole a flag of the Union Bears I certainly wouldn't be boycotting the next game against them. For those who do come through i hope you enjoy the day and you never know...you have had great cup success at the stadium before.

If this game is a lunchtime kick off then I'll give it a miss and watch it in the pub. If by some miracle it's at 3pm on a Saturday, then I'll make the trip. I don't have a flag. Repeat, I am flagless, so I should be safe on that score.

I see a lot of our fans saying it's the worst possible draw. Not sure how they figure that out. We'll make more money out this tie than many of the other ties we could have got. We were never going to win the cup anyway, so making money is a bonus.

We were never going to win the cup anyway,

You see this kind of negative thinking made me miss out 20 years ago!! When my old man asked if i wanted a ticket for the League Cup Final as he was going to take my Grandad i said 'I am not sitting watching Paul McStay running around Ibrox with the League Cup!!'

I have regretted it ever since. Although i did have a great night in a local 'Rangers' pub and had the whole lot of them singing 'Geordie Munro' :thumsup2

The 1994 side were brilliant. I believed. The current side are pretty poor. If they win at Ibrox it should count as some sort of miracle.

think most are saying it's the worst or one of the worst possible draws more for away supporters to attend due to the treatment from some home supporters, lax stewards and the likes as opposed to the money side of things

I dont think we will win the cup either but said the same in 1994

rangers are no great shakes but we are pretty gut rot so expect a doing

Our support at Ibrox a few weeks back was shocking as well. Rovers fans just don't want to go, for one reason or another.

But for what it's worth if we had a decent team there'd easily be over a thousand there. We had three times the support we took to Ibrox at Celtic Park for a midweek League Cup tie just two years ago.

Principles get sacrificed when we've got a chance of winning.

Raith fans boycotting this? Why?

Ach who gives a f**k anyway, after last seasons cup final you'd think they'd be up for this.

Fifers eh?

Not sure I'd call it a boycott. Certainly no more than the majority of our fans boycott home games.

The bottom line is we're absolutely pish and several hundred season ticket holders don't even bother showing up every week.

We're rather pishy ourselves and can be very hit and miss right now, dropping points twice to both hearts and Alloa.

I'm only 'boycotting' it if it's a stupid fucking kick off time, like lunchtime on a Sunday.

Fifers are a right cheery bunch .... At least those from Cowdenbeath have a reason to be miserable b*****ds. Raith Rovers hail from the town of Adam Smith and the great Unionist saviour Gordon Brown(had to be said  ). Raith Rovers gave the World Alex James and Jim Baxter. Stop with the negative vibes and get behind the team. 20 seasons on from that famous day when you lifted the cup after the unthinkable happened. The Captain missed the penalty.

OK Mr Pedant...The Captains penalty was saved. Is that more accurate?

eta...Just out of interest. Did the young Keeper who came on in the Semi Final win against Airdrie and did well...was his name Potter?. Did he get a winners medal?

The thought of watching the Rovers get pumped while dodging missiles in the stands and having to listen to Sectarian bile just to give up my hard earned cash to some of the biggest chancers Scottish football has ever seen means I have absolutely zero interest in going to this match.

I might watch it on telly if there is nothing else on!
