Craigyboy
BSC have no games for the next 2 WEEKS due to league schedule.....Gretna and ourselves are both free this weekend and have still to play each other but are not allowed to bring our fixture forward If anyone out there can help out ( I realise it cannot be a Lowland team) give us a shout, otherwise we need to wait till the 13th of December.....not happy. Serious question, why not? Is it a league rule or is it something that is just not done?
Craigyboy
Cicero....we asked the question and the reply we got was that we are due to play you on the 2nd last fixture of the league season...we were them told so as not to affect the integrity of the league at the end of the season where possible title and relegation issues could be resolved he wanted all teams to be playing on the same days at the end of the season. Figure that one out my friend.

Figure that one out my friend. I thought that it would have been better to play the BSC fixtures when at least they know the ground will be free. What happens if Maryhill are scheduled to play on the same day as the Gretna fixture? I assume Maryhill have first call on the ground. What I was talking about was friendly matches between clubs in the Lowland League. Is there a rule that says they can't be played or is it just not done. Craigyboy
No mate, I think you misunderstood me....ALL other Lowland teams are playing this Saturday do there are no other. Lowland teams available. I agree with you....my argument is that there will definitely be games out off between now and February, so why not play this game versus Gretna on Saturday and re-schedule one of the inevitably cancelled fixtures on the 2nd last weekend. We should be playing fixtures where possible in my humble opinion.

Grim O'Grady
You cannot just bring fixtures forward on a whim No it's best to save them up until the end of the season so teams are playing twice a week to fit them in, makes whimsical since. Cicero
I think that the fixtures should remain as published. It is bad enough that we change them for cup competitions (I am okay with the Scottish and have no gripes about not playing Spartans on Saturday) but some fans / sponsors have to make arrangements (travel, accommodation etc.) a few weeks in advance. BSC are in this situation because Selkirk's park has been unavailable for two weeks. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that it will fail again this week. They should have been playing BSC this Saturday but because the South Challenge Cup situation takes precedence, we are in this ludicrous situation. surely not!
But the fixtures have been changed this week due to other games. Could those that have been rearranged not have been mixed up a bit? Stirling uni were due to play ed city and whitehill to play threave so they two now play each other. Was there a way that BSC or Gretna could have played them without disrupting who was at home? Appreciate the integrity thing though and agree with cic re: sponsors and disruption etc. Plus, if we are really part of the pro game we can't be producing a season long fixture list only to ignore it when suits. There are plenty midweeks throughout the year to play catch up cup football-even if it means a neutral venue for those with no floodlights ( not sure we could do an all nighter grim- to make your idea work) . Is it just a coincidence that Gretna and BSC are both idle on groundhog day/weekend whatever its called as well ? just sayin likes
Craigyboy
I have no Idea newky.....but it's just tough when we reorganise our cup match cos we know we have to get it played, thinking it would help the league out, then we also know we have a free week on the 6th of December....only to find out we then have a free week this week as well. It's a bit harsh, we just thought that given the circumstances we could have been helped a little.
