HeathrowAUFC
The bubble has nearly burst. Too many teams, not enough competition, certainly not enough interest. Is it time to regionalise our great sport. Before we go any further, the thought of amalgamation between the DKB & my beloved Ayr repulses me beyond belief but is it a price worth paying in the long term? 42 become 15? - Celtic - Rangers - Dundee City (D'dee & Utd) - Lanarkshire (Accies, M'well, Airdrie, Albion) - Ayrshire (Ayr, Kilmarnock) - Glasgow (Partick, Q.P., Clyde) - Renfrewshire (St Mirren, Morton, Dumbarton) - Central (St Johnstone, Alloa, Falkirk, Livi, Stirling, S'muir, E Stirlingshire, Berwick) - Fife (C'beath, Raith, D'mline, E Fife) - Angus (Brechin, Forfar, Arbroath, Montrose) - S West (QOS, Stranraer, Annan) - Aberdeen - Hibs - Hearts - Highlands (ICT, Ross, P'head, Elgin) Forgive the geographical boundaries but are we happy with the status quo? Cyclizine
Oh great, another reconstruction thread. Could you not have added this abortion of an idea to one of the countless other threads where it could die in peace?
Binos123sam
Da fuk does that mean every team gets to play like six games and then teams in our region play about 20 games or something and Berwick are in the borders
HibeeJibee
He means merging clubs into 'super teams'. It is an absolutely hellish idea.
Blue-Orchid
I would certainly travel a 180 mile round trip for a home game. Where do I sign up?
vikingTON
Seems that some of Ayr's hilarious fanbase would do literally anything by now to attain a scrap of relevance rather than continue watching their no-mark outfit. Naturally were there an Ayrshire regional club formed, Ayr United would be about 17th on the list of preferred clubs taking part, beneath Hurlford or Girvan. HeathrowAUFC
In the 2nd tier of Scottish football, 542 brave souls watched Cowdenbeath v Livingston at the weekend. Where does that end? Cash starved clubs, three quarter empty stadiums, sexy football it ain't. Carry on regardless?
The Grass Is Greener.
The only question I have is, how didn't someone think of this sooner? Genius.
craigkillie
Hi. I think this is a marvellous idea. I'm a particular fan of the merger which brings together St Johnstone and Berwick Rangers - it's a joke that these two teams both exist when they're in such close geographical proximity to each other and have to compete for a fanbase. I like the choice of 15 teams - leagues with even numbers are hugely overrated. This approach would allow every club a couple of spare weeks to play some glamour friendlies. I'm already moist at the thought of the Lanarkshire Lions playing against the newly formed Tbilisi-Minsk-Reykjavik FC. Do you have any opinion on whether we should make the move to summer football? And what about bringing back a group stage in the League Cup?

Johnny Martins Willy
Surely Hibs and Hearts would join to form Edinburgh FC? Both clubs are hardly taking the world by storm on their own are they now? This idea wouldn't work anyway. The thought of playing a Fife FC would be too much to handle for most. Imagine the spectacles as people from all over the kingdom of Fife gather together in support of one club in scenes only before seen in the hills have eyes. callum-ayr
It would be a no from me, but by god, there's some precious souls on here. Oh, there is Viking Ten turning something completely unrelated from Ayr, into a debate about Ayr. That obsession gets stronger by the day.
