Resurgent Dream Team v Albino Rovers

A Believer

Recommended Posts

Won't be frozen, but severe gales and heavy rain forecast.

Very big game this and both teams had good wins Saturday. For Berwick, Cameron may pick the same team as Saturday. Our midfield got overrun in the 2nd half of the 1st game, so he may strengthen the centre at the expense of a wide man (as he did on Saturday). So possibly Gold for Drummond again. Also, Russell may keep his place over Dargo who was snuffed out by Albions defence in the 1st match.

Whatever side CC plays, they will be well up for this one. Not much between the 2 teams and it could just come down to whoever gets the breaks on the night.

Hope the weather doesn't ruin it.

A posting on twitter says the car parking inside the ground is to be free tomorrow night (think it is normally £2) as there is to be policed restrictions on street parking outside the ground.

Any idea what these police "restrictions" are - and why they've decided to get involved in matchday parking outside the ground?

It's because it's so quiet for them, Coatbridge being crime free and all, that they've decided to move in on the miscreants who park half on the pavement between Cliftonhill and Owenie's.

Looking forward to this, though big challenge for us is beating a team in the top 3 (1 point out of 12 so far in the league this season).

Morale boosting victory against a lamentably bad Bully Wee outfit on Saturday, made all the more enjoyable by growing evidence that Lee Currie is getting back to his best. The 40 yard free kick that cannoned off the underside of the bar was a thing of wonder, while Russell's badger-on-speed display promises to give the Rover defence a run for their money. On the downside, Lav looked some way off full fitness, while David Gold's limp display has'nt resolved the left side of midfield conundrum. Ross Drummond back there please.

Extra time then pens, with the ball in play for a total of 3 minutes over the 120 due to the effects of the "Arctic Bomb". Gemmell to miss the crucial spot-kick.

Fantastic result. Hugely chuffed for CC and all the staff and players. Not to mention the fans!

Fabulous day in Edinburgh awaits. The game at Spartans should definitely be on the gogglebox.

Berwick will do a 13/14 Rovers and squander their chance of a PO spot in exchange for an easy route to the SC QFs IMO (Scottish Cup quarter-finals in my opinion.)

With this unnecessary distraction out of the way we can concentrate on winning a proper competition.

Delighted, absolutely delighted with this result. By no means an easy task travelling to Spartans, but if you'd offerred us an away game (with the possibility of a replay), versus a non-league club, for a place in the Scottish Cup QFs, we'd all have taken it. Excellent.

Have to say feel sorry for the Albion boy that got sent off, he genuinely slipped.

He had an unlucky night. His first booking seemed to me something of a tough 50/50 challenge, 15 years ago a ref may have let it slide but Northcroft probably got it right. His second was unfortunate, nay clumsy, but I have no complaints about the decision. Minutes earlier he gifted Berwick their goal. A decent player to have in the squad but not much of a left back IMO.
