ArabFC
Great performance against Ireland. Totally fcuked against England - Strachan was left with guys like Mulgrew (his bestie) blowing out of his arse because he only had 6 subs. A mistake in hindsight not to make changes. I was going to grumble about it being crazy that England wanted it more than us, but tiredness obv played its part. What have we learnt? Chris Martin isn't good enough. The difference between him and Fletcher is huge. Naismith is prob second choice striker, but after that we're struggling. Andy Robertson has heaps of potential, and will be left back for years, but needs to work on his defending still. We'll see more and more of his driving runs as he gains experience and confidence. Darren Fletcher looks half the player he was. Anything else?

I.e. martin, Rhodes etc are perfectly good/lethal strikers, but our system demands a totally different type of front man ... I.e. a fast, strong, clinical striker like lewandowski or Rooney. False 9 for Scotland? (Joking...I think)
sydney
Think you're a tad harsh of Darren Fletcher. I thought he struggled at first but got better as the game progressed. Think a move away from Man U may do him good (assuming he's fit) to get more regular first team football.

False 9 for Scotland? (Joking...I think) I find us a bit frustrating going forward - we make plenty of runs and get balls into the box but against Ireland and likewise tonight, there's nobody to get into them. I think Fletcher, Martin and Naismith are all decent strikers down South, so there must be an element of the style that isn't suiting them but we aren't really fixing the problem. Against Ireland I thought Fletcher wasn't great - he was good outside the box but when the ball came in the defender was always in front of him to get it away. We need a more clinical striker who can get in behind the defenders and move them around a bit, create space for a shot at least.
Jordo1872
We'd all have taken the result on Friday over a win tonight so let's keep thing in context. We've learned that we'll struggle to break down teams who sit in and control possession. I suspect Martin will be a decent enough squad player for us but nothing more. Defensively we are suspect and although lesser teams may struggle to break us down we'll always be exposed when up against quality opposition. Strachan will know the script and have the team back on form for the next qualifiers. Let's keep things realistic and positive.
miketheheadlesschicken
Didn't bother with tonight's game so no idea how he got on but we really need another centre back. Hanley is awful.

Quentin Taranbino
Think over the Ireland and England things we have learnt a few things: 1. Our best fully fit back 4 currently is 100% Hutton, Martin, Hanley and Robertson. No more calls for Greer, Whittaker, Forsyth etc 2. Steven Fletcher is our main man up front. Chris Martin isn't 3. Darren Fletcher is no longer a nailed on starter 4. Mulgrew is suitable back up in the DM slot although not quite a starter if everyone fit 5. Russell and May are both well worth their places in the squad 6. Our best 11 when fully fit is almost certainly: Marshall, Hutton, Martin, Hanley, Robertson, Brown, Morrison, Maloney, Naismith, Anya and S.Fletcher 7. Anyone who disagrees with any of the 6 above points is clearly insane

Wee Shaun has a great touch and does well for Scotland but he's just not quite right playing the RAM role. Please come back soon Snodgrass! Jambomo
Maloney has done well for us so I wouldn't want to see him out the team. f**k knows who would score the goals if he wasn't around! Looking forward to seeing Gauld come through though, hope he's doing ok at Sporting Lisbon.

He's our one striker but does his best work outside the box. 1 goal in 18 caps is clear-cut pish. That said, until we unearth a world class all round number 9, he's probably the kind of mediocrity we'll have to accept. Stevie may looks like a worthy alternative tho

Utter nonsense. What does it matter whether he's on the end of it or setting them up, as long as we're scoring goals
Neilly
The Fletcher haters don't have a fucking clue just ignore. Mulgrew starts ahead of Morrison as well going forward to next year he was sensational against Ireland. His added physical presence for defensive set plays in a very small team and gravy delivery to the opposite box put him ahead of Morrison.
