After the fantastic Celtic Park atmosphere last night, is it time that the Scottish national team dump the soulless Hampden as the immediate pick for international matches, and rotate games between Celtic Park, Ibrox and for smaller games Easter Road, Tynecastle, Rugby Park etc?

Plenty of other nations take their fixtures around the country depending on the opposition, potential crowds etc and it seems to work well.

Hampden was a great stadium, however since the rebuild it has lost everything that made it great. Time to retire her I feel.

Unless they made a proper job of rebuilding Hampden (unlikely), the games should be at Ibrox or Parkhead. Can't comment on what Ibrox is like for atmosphere since I've never been but Parkhead was electric last night - infinitely better than Hampden IMO.

I still love hampden. I just feel at home there as I have been going all my life but I am up for occasionally playing at celtic park and ibrox. Maybe even the biggest in murrayfield.

I wish we could just increase hampdens capacity

Hampden - there can be no question of this. And not just for reasons of tradition and of fairness (as in practice it would almost invariably be only Ibrox and Parkhead)... without internationals Queen's Park couldn't keep the stadium on their own and that - and the fact it would no longer be 'the home of Scottish football' - would see cup SFs & Finals migrate elsewhere, IMO.

You'd then get repeats of last season's Rangers-Dundee Utd situation, and problems with all-OF ties.

Hampden has a capacity suitable for most of our games most of the time, and can generate a perfectly good atmosphere.

Parkhead was absolutely jumping last night, I'd definitely prefer if all the bigger games were there. Great view from the Lisbon Lions Upper too, but then again most places at Celtic Park offer a decent view (except the away end and South Stand).

Don't think it would be fair to judge Ibrox on the Georgia game; the atmosphere was always going to be flat given the strength of the opposition and the prices. That said, the view I got in the Govan Rear was brilliant - probably better than anywhere in Hampden.

I've always defended Hampden when folk bring up how shite the view is. Unless you're right down the front then it's not that bad. A wee bit away from the park granted, but you can see the game perfectly well from the back end of the West Stand which is where I usually go for.

But aye, I'd quite like to see us rotate the fixtures around the 3 even after Hampden is restored.

On the topic of moving friendlies around to smaller venues, remember there'll hardly be any friendlies after the next qualifying campaign. Typical 2yr cycle will consist of 10 qualifiers, 6 Nations League games, and 2 playoffs. Only if out of the playoffs, or drawn into an odd-numbered NL group, would a friendly be feasible.

I'd keep Hampden for the competitive games, and do a roadshow across the country for friendlies.

I think it is important for the national team to have it's own stadium, not only for the national team, but for cup finals. As much as Aberdeen and St.Johnstone loved winning the cups, I think having it at Celtic Park would take a wee gloss off it. I also hate a trophy presentation on the middle of the pitch, much prefer Hampden going up the stairs in the stand.

Not surprised either some people having a change of view about Parkhead, I've been in it for european game when it has been jumping, proper hairs on the back of the neck stuff. It is fantastic for atmosphere....... for the home crowd ;)
