Kyle
About time! Archie Knox surely! Christ. Can we not bring in a young, up and coming manager that actually understand modern football a bit more? Knox and Stark are complete dinosaurs IMO. AMMjag
I always think people make way more of a deal about the u21 position than needs to be made. Whether a young player progresses into the full squad depends on their club form, nothing else. It's a nice little low-pressure earner for whoever gets the job. La_Leyenda
He's 10/1 for the Motherwell job. Worth a look maybe. Think Scott Booth is the likeliest to move up into the U21 role. Though, that's Wotte and Stark both left recently. Makes you wonder if there's a rift with Strachan - either he wasn't a fan of them or they weren't a fan of him. bobby carlos
The problem with getting a young hungry manager (my preferred choice as well) is that they will always be looking to be getting back into club football.

Diamond Oracle
Jimmy Boyle, IMO That's not a bad shout by the way. Despite having a poor first team record, he had a good eye for a youngster.

Diamonds are Forever
I always think people make way more of a deal about the u21 position than needs to be made. Whether a young player progresses into the full squad depends on their club form, nothing else. It's a nice little low-pressure earner for whoever gets the job. Agreed, it's also by far the least important of all the age groups. Any good 19/20 year olds will be in the senior squad, and if you're not then playing 3-4 games a year in front of a couple of thousand fans at under 21 level isn't going to make much difference. No he didn't, think of the scores of young players that he threw into the first team, and how many were actually any good? It's easy to forget all those players who played a couple of games and then never appeared again. He had a couple of 'hits' but if you fling enough shite them some will stick.
