Who would you have as first choice goalkeeper

Marshall. Gordon- when fully fit- is the best goalkeeper by far. And he seems to be fit now but I think we're better with a solid- continued presence between the sticks. I'd want Gordon to have a good season under his belt first until we're sure he's over his injury problems.

I like McGregor too and he's probably on a par with Marshall but he's also had his injury problems of late.

I'd say Gordon is our best keeper. McGregor and Marshall are similar with McGregor being a bit more commanding. All three are great to have in the National set-up though and don't mind too much who is selected.

Either Gordon or McGregor should be starting this game. It's a bit harsh on Marshall, but he's not as good as either of them and you have to take sentiment out of it.

Agreed, Marshall is far more confident and rounded than he was at 18 (unsurprisingly), but McGregor is a shade better and for me gordon is a leap ahead of both.

If any club truly felt that way he wouldn't still be at Cardiff.

Well there wasn't really any movement with keepers among the top EPL clubs in the summer, and Cardiff would have been charging top dollar for him. Had Lloris left Spurs, as was rumoured, Marshall was supposedly their first choice to replace him.

I don't think he's done anything wrong and I'm happy for him to remain as number 1, and I expect he will.

Its just that we've heard this stuff before (Hutton admired by man u etc)

10 mill and Marshall would be gone.

Marshall had a great season but as I got slated for last season, he's not quite the standard of a top, top team. Neither is McGregor. Gordon, however, was/is but I doubt he'll ever make the true top level because he's hit the 30 mark and still has big questions over his fitness/injury proneness. The best he'll have is another decent stint in the Prem even though he's talented enough to be playing for the best.

Yes but none of the top clubs were looking for a keeper in the summer. He was in more than one English pundits team of the season. Saying he was one of the best in the league last year is not really overly optimistic.

I've seen Craig Gordon once this year, and in that game he was badly at fault for conceding a goal.

I'm sure he's had a couple of good games apart from that. But that should not and will not be enough to get him the nod against Ireland.

I reckon Marsh will start vs roi too.

But just about any team in the epl could have afforded Marshall, yet not one even bid for him. I reckon that distinguishes him as being a brave, talented keeper who had lots of saves to make on his way down instead of a genuinely top keeper

For me it goes Marshall, then Gordon, then McGregor. Although to be fair I'm not really bothered who starts - they're all very good goalkeepers. In 40 caps I can't really remember Gordon putting a foot wrong for us and I'm sure he'd do a great job if given the nod - but Marshall impressed last season and has performed well so far in this qualifying campaign. Don't see any need to change it.
