A fleg for Raith

The_Kincardine

Question

So a few of our scummy fans ncked a Raith's boy's fleg and chopped it up. Kunty behavior that you can read about on the match thread here:

http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/topic/217720-rangers-v-raith-rovers/

Tedi made the suggestion here:

http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/topic/217720-rangers-v-raith-rovers/page-13#entry8898563

"If the likes of BigQ organises a replacement fund then I am sure quite a few of us would."

I for one would happily chip in a tenner if Div can organise a flegforraith paypal account and I know other Bears would contribute. I'd do it myself but it seems better if it's 'official'.

If this isn't appropriate can someone suggest another way? The flag cost £300 I read so it would only take 30 of us to replace it.

Let's make one thing abundantly clear here; if we are judging what 'Ultras' are by European standards, then there are no Ultras in this country. Quite happy to leave the stabbings and unprovoked attacks to the Italian Ultras and what not. Those that stole the flag and posted that horrendous photo online are nothing more than wee shites who see what the big, bad Roma Ultras are doing and wanna try and emulate them.

New flag definitely should have a 'Funded by Sevco' mention.

Nutz, I know you're joking but that would be the worst possible outcome. I'd want any donations to be anonymous and am from the "do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing," school.

Bump.

BigQ has given me details of a pay pal account where contributions can be made. I ll gladly pass them on to anybody wanting to make a contribution. Drop me a PM if interested

They are not an Ultra group like the Ayr United Ragazzi or whatever they call themselves and they certainly did not deserve to be treated like this. All true football supporters should be able to visit Ibrox without fear or intimidation.

I don't buy this they weren't shouting abuse back at the UBs inside the stadium but frankly i don't care either way. The UBs like to give a bit of abuse out so if they get some harmless abuse back...so what?

You ll never get excuses from me. If our support are out of order i will say so and i have just had a short conversation with a supporter of your club regarding this. His pal was attacked at Ibrox last season and for that i am truly sorry. There were plenty of supporters of your club who were actively looking for trouble and especially at EEP and if they found trouble...well i have very little sympathy. I feel the same way about the UBs...If they are on the receiving end i have little sympathy for them.

At which point it becomes alright to nick a flag that cost a few hundred pounds? Credit for what you're doing for the Raith fan, but this is a ludicrous justification for the theft of Ayr's flag.

Personally i think these flag thefts are a load of nonsense and those responsible need a kick in the stones . The Ayr mob were trying to steal UB07 and TBO flags that day. I remember reading on here that The Ragazi were going to do this that and the other. They failed and the UB07 didn't. I wouldn't give the UB07 or Ragazi one single penny of my money! They want to indulge in this shitty behaviour let them batter in but they should never be allowed to interfere with normal football supporters who just want to Follow their team

Anyway there is a huge difference between what happened at Ayr and a group of thugs setting about one young lad who is standing with a supporters group flag and taking it off him. Then even after Rangers fans on Facebook and Fans Forums...Follow Follow in particular asked them to hand the flag back they went online and cut it into pieces. I ll be honest i have said from just about day 1 that Big Q should have got the police involved. He didn't and is now trying to get money together for a new flag. I am sure he will give you the pay pal details

Ultras all over Europe do this, it appears they all accept that part of being an Ultra is to steal other Ulra`s flags and photograph them upside down as trophies, therfore it is entirly different to what happened with the Raith flag.

The standard of football supporters' behaviour has plummeted since the days of flat caps and mufflers.

Ayr don't have 'Ultras', they gave themselves a name etc and some may have acted like fannies online, but at the end of the day all they were doing was trying to add a bit of colour and atmosphere to Ayr games. The Ragazzi flag getting stolen was not the result of some kind of SR vs UB battle to steal a flag, the UB walked into the home end after the game and stole the flag unopposed while these 'Ayr ultras' that you speak of were back in the pub having a pint with their pals. It was shite behaviour and was in no way more acceptable than the Raith incident.

Again though, credit for the effort you are going to to reimburse the Raith fan.

In the pub you say..

Ragazzi do not see themselves as ultras you say.

ragazzi-somerset.jpg

That is correct, in the pub. The game had finished and the ground had emptied.

If 'Ultras' are people who support the team with a bit of noise and colour, then I suppose they are. If the uniform characteristic of Ultras is similar to what the UB seem to think, where theft and embarrassingly posing for upside down flag photos are common practice, then they are not Ultras.

Regardless of what you class them as, it's still totally unnecessary.

Thanks lads for the offers of help towards a new flag if we decide to get one we may take up your kind offers.I am still hoping the arseholes that destroyed it cough up the money to pay for the new one.We know who they are and are now trying to contact them to give them a way out of this situation they brought upon themselves. The thing is they are local, were gloating about it and apparently at least 1 is known to go to styx.Regarding styx no.8 is correct all away fans are welcome to come there pre match even pars fans although any that come in get put out the back behind the electric fence and fed by gutties. Just joking you are all welcome in future. :)

There is no such thing as Ultras in Scotland. Not one club has a group of fans worthy of being known as Ultras.

Don't let Cosgrove catch you saying that. The failed Football Hooligan would not be happy

That may be true, however these wee scallywags obviously see themselves as 'ultras' and want to play at being Ultras by doing the things that other 'Ultras' do, I have no sympathy for the real ones or the fake Ayr ones.

At the end of the day, we're just talking about a group of young fans who have put together 300 quid for a flag, only for some utter balloons to nick it.

All this flag-stealing pish is an utter minter.

If / when Rangers get back into Europe maybe the wee bawbags who do this will try pinching flags from a few Italian or Eastern European teams. Good luck lads.
