Queen's Park vs Albion Rovers

Cup fever taking over for this titanic tussle between Monkland's finest football team and the Wee Rovers.

Fingers crossed that we can keep up our superb run of form and that the IBF thugs Boris the Spider, Chester Desmond and Dave manage to contain themselves when Darren Miller spanks in his third of the day in the closing stages.

PS. In seriousness, any bigwigs know when the replay for this game would be in the event of a draw? Some good deals on group travel on the train to Arbroath for the game on the 8th but don't want to book anything and then have to go to Coatbridge instead.

I don't qualify as a bigwig but if it's any help every replay so far has been the following Saturday. Most notably Montrose v Arbroath in the last round which dispels the long- journey and/or insufficient lights theories for a midweek game. Unles of course one of them already had a midweek game arranged.

Anyway, replay won't be required. :)

It's a fun fact that (assuming Darren Young doesn't risk himself with his recent injury) there will be two SC finalists on the touchline at this game- although Gus went one further than our manager and won the thing.

More relevant to the game is our crop of experienced Cup heroes, most of whom will be playing on Saturday, and will be hungry to progress to the next round for a glamour tie at Hamilton

...against St. Mirren.

Another efficient win in what could have been a tricky fixture, another progression to the big boy round and Broomfield becoming John Gemmell's happy hunting ground. Very impressive.

The BBC have neglected this game- their reporter no doubt turned up at a deserted Hampden. Does anyone know where I can find the line-ups?

I really enjoyed that game. The first half I thought Rovers were poor and Queens Park had a good spell of possession and were very good breaking forward. Their No 11 playing on the left had good movement and was able to take players on. Releasing the ball was a bit of a problem for the lad though and QP wasted a lot of their chances. Nicking a goal before the break made the world of difference and in the second half Rovers were a different team. Very fluid going forward and (sorry, I have been 5 games this season and still not learned the players names as yet) but the No 7 on the left, The centre half (No 5) and the Right Back (No 2) all stood out for me. The two strikers were excellent and the second goal was well taken.

Close game in my opinion but the difference was that albion were clinical with their chances. Thought queens were worse when Berry got injured and had to get subbed. Hopfuelly the injury isn't as bad as it looks as Berry has been terrific since signing. Think we need a striker now since duggans back at thistle due to injury
