Todders
It looks like your reputation as the forums resident moron is absolutely intact...and with such stiff competition too. Congratulations.
ForzaDundee
Just like that Barosso boy's opinion was final before the referendum but is allowed to be challenged now.

Reynard
I see there was a by election last night and the SNP won it. I take it that THIS election was conducted impeccably and there will be no bad loser style videos, complaints and general cuntery going on because the result went "the right way"? Democracy, dontcha just love it?

Hee-haw. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/scottish_independence_referendum_2 Probably a bit of pointing and laughing. Reynard
Yes, because the system as it stands is perfect and above reproach. The actual electoral system is about as good and fair as you'll ever see. The only issue I have with it is with postal voting and not the actual process of distributing or counting, the bit where the actual vote is cast and who is actually casting it. There's no way of knowing this obviously. But other than that, having been at dozens of election counts, I know of nothing that has been amiss. Maybe you can tell me which areas you think are not working for you?

When policy changing decisions are made after the postal votes are cast it's not exactly a perfect system, but I don't see how that kind of thing can be avoided in the future. It makes casting a postal vote a bit of a blind leap when the system can be manipulated. Other than that I don't subscribe to the conspiracy theories attached to the referendum. Most of it real tin foil hat stuff that doesn't help anyone.

I accept that for some, its the only way, but its not as watertight as turning up in person at a polling station.

The thing that doesn't sit well with me, apart from postal voting which I agree with you on, is that there is no requirement to provide any secondary documentation to prove you are the person entitled to cast the vote. I believe this was changed in Norn Irn many years ago due to the habit of people voting early and often.
