Best Jump Scares in Movies *SPOILERS AHOY*

This seems like a good idea. Think it's a good spinoff from the frightening horrors. What are your favourite jump scares?

The Exorcist III - STATUE! Mental stuff. The jig of the camera before it catches you as well. Adds that touch of tension before delivering the bomb. Magnificent.

Jaws - Head in the boat.

Paranormal Activity 2 - The kitchen.

Any others?

Sloth in Se7en, when everyone thinks he's dead and he just pops up coughing.

I know its a bollocks film, but the scene when he checks the larder in Signs for the alien and it sticks its hand out, made me jump like f**k first time i watched it.

This was the other one that occurred to me. I did see it coming, but it makes for a nasty scare nonetheless, The sound work is excellent in that film.

Normally you know beforehand that they're clearly about to try and do something scary.

Due to this, the thing which made me jump more than anything else in film hsitory is utterly embarrassing.

It actually made me jump from one cinema seat into the one next to me (luckily empty).

THX sound systems need their own public health warnings.

Something like that, aye. Absolutely brilliant example of a jump scare actually. I wasn't sure what they were gonna throw in there, but I KNEW something was coming. Cracking one nonetheless.

I usually can spot a jump scare a mile away but somehow I didnt see that coming. Gads that was a great/awful movie.

The bit in The Cabin In The Woods where the lassie is going to kiss the Wolf's head or whatever is a great example of someone setting up a jump scare but then not going for it which made the suspense incredible.
