Preston - Green Shoots?

I watched the Whitehill v Preston game today and it was a good advert for the Lowland League. The result could have gone either way - Preston took the initiative and it looked like they would take all the points but never underestimate the perseverance and commitment of Whitehill. I suspect that both teams feel they could have won the match - in which case a draw was the correct result. This was a very different Preston team from the one I saw earlier in the season with a lot more organisation and discipline. On the basis of today's performance I expect Preston will gradually improve and should be safe.

Going to a match at Rosewell is always enjoyable from the catering to the 'entertainment value' of the commentary from the 'wheelchair area' (those of you who have been there will know what I mean - if you haven't been there, you don't know what you are missing!). Also, the referee came in for the customary advice but hit a sensible level in a game of constant pace, pressure and passion. Great game with two great teams.

Great result for Preston. Seems they have got themself together and playing with some confidence . The boys from hearts are obviously good additions .

Can anyone confirm threave gala score . Saw the bbc said 2-2 but lowland league has different . Bit of a gap at the bottom forming now so if Preston have improved it's at the right time !

I was at the game today and its the second time i've seen welfare, the first time they looked a good attacking team with 3 up top but today they struggled to break down the preston defence which was solid most of the game. especially CB area. on the other hand Welfare's defence was poor so many mistake which could have cost them on another day. Tbh Welfare where on top 65mins of the game and preston sitting in and relying on mistakes which again on another day could have took all points. Welfare should have scored in injury time when all the right winger had to do is shoot and score but a great last ditch tackle from the centre back ended that opportunity.

In my opinion if that's all Welfare had to throw at the basement boys there is no way they will win the league this season, Preston will have a hard time staying up this season but if they show the defensive display and hunger today the rest of the remaining games i have no doubt they will stay up.

The wind killed the game but entertaining enough for my entry fee :)

I thought our keeper could have done better with prestons 1st goal but we seemed to have started slowly as preston took a deserved lead.

The 2nd our defender was bundled off the ball far too easily to allow the big centre forward a clear run through towards the goal.

Can't really blame the antics from behind the goal at this point though. We were poor.

We seemed to have woke up and a well worked goal allowed aaron a headed goal to pull it back to 2-1.

We went for it 2nd half with attack after attack and eventually it paid off (after tosh went more central dont think left forward is his position) when he chested and volleyed for the equaliser.

Obviously when we pushed forward as much Preston were gonnae create chances on the break.

End to end stuff felt our keeper very nervous today for some reason as he's been tremendous all season but from a ww point of view its another 2 points dropped.

Don't think good enough for top 4 or 5 at this rate of dropped points but we'll plod on.

Preston defo on the up with the new management though and best of luck to them for the rest of season.

Good points. I thought all the goals could have been prevented and Preston in particular made the mistake of giving Wayne too much space. Mickey shouted "Believe in yoursleves" and when the Whitehill team listen to him they will do well. I think the Preston stand-in goalie had some great efforts late that earned them a point. Still a great game but both teams will think they should have had all the points.

Waygo scored 30 goals in that position last season plus 17 assists. I would say that he can play it with those stats.Already in double figures this season!
