Hibernian v Heart of Midlothian, 26/10/2014

Recommended Posts

I called it at the start of the season, games against Hibs and Zombies will be scrappy, full of fouls and not very good to look at. This league won't be decided by these games, but wether we can go to Alloa, QoS and Dumbarton away and win.

Pressure back on Zombies.

Also if we can stay top till we play them, that will be a great result. I'm far more interested in us having a strong, youthful team that can play well and succeed in the premiership both financially and on the field. The rest will come to us if we keep our heads down.

We were garbage for large spells and to their credit, Hibs outplayed us today.

A very decent result in the circumstances though and my word what a strike from big Ozzy. The best bounce since Anfield without a doubt.

I thought the first 15 mins were very even, and then Hibs started to take a grip of the game, and it was a deserved half time lead they held, but I think Strachan got it spot on when he said Hearts were the better side in the 2nd half, although not sure how much of that was down to us, or was down to Hibs trying to protect what they had and backing off, because we were absolutely woeful today and it was one of our worst performances of the season, so to take a point in that fashion was extremely pleasing.

Paterson is a cock, he deservedly was sent packing for a horrendous tackle, the laddie is never a fullback in a million years and is much more effective on the right side of midfield where he causes problems. Only Alexander and Eckersley got pass marks today for me.

Thought we were the better team for most of the game but didn't deserve the win for our last 20 mins. Even before the red we didn't get it right. In that situation you can sit in and park everyone in front of the ball or you can leave men forward and try to take advantage of the extra space. We tried the latter but did it very poorly. Can't have any complaints. Criminal not to keep the ball in the corner at the end though.

Hipster Filth shouldn't really be getting beaten from there but he saved one or two well before we took the lead and it was an absolute fucking thrike tbf.

Hibs proving we are the better team as with each game against this mob this season.

Credit where its due though: goal of the season in the bag. What a hit. One of the best strikes in derby history.

Yeah: that's why you're 14 points behind, because you're the better team.

Hibs were surprisingly good today, but Hearts deserved a point for a decent second half. Hopefully we can put that mixed performance behind us and push on against Raith Rovers on the 8th.

Thought that was a pretty good game and a draw a fair result. Hearts midfield two couldn't impose themselves on the game the way they have been doing and you have to give the Hibs midfield credit for that. It meant they had no real platform to build on which kept the game end-to-end and interesting for the neutral.

Are you genuinely this deluded or just on heroin?!

Raising your game against your City rivals whilst neglecting most other matches doesn't make Hibs "a better team than Hearts".

Shite like you're spouting just excuses your players for not putting it in week in week out.

I missed the game but I'd question the team selection. Hibs presumably played their diamond formation as expected and we played a 4-4-2 with two wingers. Buaben and Gomis might be the best partnership in the league but they were outnumbered and Allan and McGeouch are decent players. I'd have been tempted to stick Holt or Pallardo in there to match up. Like I say, I didn't see the game so I don't know if that was the root our problems but the midfield mismatch would have worried me before kick-off. You could argue we wanted to exploit the extra space on the wings but the wingers are always going to be peripheral if you don't control the midfield. A midfield three of Pallardo, Gomis and Buaben with two wingers and Buaben given license to push forward a bit more and support Sow would have been my pick.

What a fucking screamer by Ozturk by the way. He was always going to pull one of those out of the bag at some point, the crazy fucker. Gutted I didn't see it live.

Admit it sjc, you missed the goal having been chucked out for acting like a fanny

I spotted him in the first half. He went down to the corner flag for most of the first half and was allowed to stand in the aisle for a bit. He was videoing the Gunts fans singing and then a couple of pieces of their attacking play. He was also not reacting at all to anything Hibee of note and the final give away was him standing looking gutted, shaking his head, when we scored.

At that point, I decided to go and alert a steward, as I was now certain. Told him there was Gunt in the end and that there was the danger of things escalating if others became more aware. They didn't eject him but they did watch him for all of half time (he was ignorantly unaware) and into the second half. His finale came when he started sarcastically conducting the Hibs support singing (still at 1-0). A guy in front of us spotted it for the first time and decided it was time the boy left. He tried to escort him from the building but stewards intervened quickly and emptied the Gunt. Hibs fan returned to his seat.

They scored after that. So he missed it.

Thing is, he was known to a few Hibs fans in the area. They knew. They may even have been party to him getting a ticket, who knows?

What ward is sjc in, btw?

It'll be like that bit in Snatch where the pikeys are all arguing what to do with Tommy after Brad Pitt has levelled Gorgeous George!

In Snatch, it was caravans - this time, it's sjc's boat - poor sjc could end up in Hackney marshes after being fed to the pigs.

Grim.

Don't worry boys Flash is NOT dead! :P

Was that you throwing your ST onto the pitch at the end btw Doyle?! ;)

I left my seat as soon as Hearts scored. Never chucked out any ST.

Did you enjoy celebrating Malonga's goal? ;)
