Did make a cracking save late on though. Hutton - 3 Mistakes at both goals, generally pretty poor tonight. Has done well for Scotland in the past, this must be his worst game to date. Martin - 8 Our best player tonight and becoming one of our most important. Whether it's Hanley or Greer he is playing alongside he looks assured. Greer - 7 Horror challenge early on that he arguably could have been sent off for. Aside from that can't think he did much wrong. I'm happy with him as third choice centre back. Whittaker - 7 Wasn't happy with his inclusion pre-match however I don't think he did anything badly. He has a tendency to drift inside and get caught out but kept it simple and was defensively sound tonight. Brown - 6.5 Fairly solid performance. Couple of wayward passes but did his job. Morrison - 7 Considering he doesn't play defensive mid for his club, he has impressed me in this position. Kept it simple and got forward when he could without leaving defence exposed. Great cross for 2nd goal. Maloney - 6.5 Composed finish for the goal. Some shocking crosses again tonight and can't think of much else he did right or wrong Anya - 7 Fantastic control and cross for our first goal and almost did it again in second half. Tracked back and did a power of running throughout the night. Naismith - 6.5 Did well to get in position for his goal but thought he was pretty anonymous for most of the night. Worked hard though S.Fletcher - 7.5 Similar to Saturday, had some great touches and link up play with his midfielders. Fantastic ball to Anya for first goal and did it a few times throughout game. Subs: D.Fletcher - 6 Did what I expect he was told to do and help calm things down. Didn't give the ball away alot. C.Martin - 5 Struggled to get into game given the backs to wall stuff. Rednyella Posted October 15, 2014 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Marshall - 7 Pulled off a top save to help us secure the draw. Was good in the air and calm throughout game. Neither goal was his fault. Hutton - 6 At fault for 1st goal. A terrible clearance / touch. Didn't create as much as would have liked and was turned over a few times by Poles. He's had better nights. Still best full back we have in team and has done well of late. Greer - 7.5 Did very little wrong and looked comfortable all night. Has given Strachan a selection headache against Hanley as the latter is prone to mistakes that Greer hasn't made in last few appearances. Martin - 7.5 Also did very little wrong as the pairing looked solid and communicated well. He'll be a solid player for Scotland. Whittaker - 7 Decent performance but for me lacks creation and sometimes looks 1 yard or second away from a mistake that could cost us. A good full back but I believe Robertson deserved his chance to keep his place as Whittaker didn't defend too well and was caught a few times like Hutton. Brown - 9 Man if the match! Covered every blade, was physical and led with passion on the field. Kept his head in a tough atmosphere and was one reason we retained possession so well tonight. Morrison - 7.5 Solid! Very tidy in possession, passes well and is a very clean footballer. He had a good game teaming up with Brown, Maloney and co. Maloney - 8.5 best game in a Scotland jersey. Was creative, linked well when we had long parts of game with possession. looked born to play central and behind S. Fletcher. Took his goal very well. Naismith - 7.5 Very deft and nice touch for goal. Was quieter tonight but played in a wide wing/midfield position. Work rate was as good as ever but got frustrated from time to time. Is now part of spine of team. Anya - 7 setup the Maloney goal and showed moments of his ability but lacked physical presence and looked a little fatigued. Certainly has more room to play than against Georgia. I think there is more to come from the Watford winger. A good and solid player for Scotland. S. Fletcher - 8 Very difficult job to play alone up front in a hostile and load atmosphere expected to give some link play to midfield. He did very well. Started slow but grew in stature and caused several problems for Polish defense. Nice touches and brought Maloney and co into game well. Subs - D. Fletcher - 6 His touches and movement show his class. Never once lost the ball when he came on and tried to help start and create some moves. We need his experience and his match fitness back. Martin - 5.5 Almost impossible task to come in as lone forward with 15 mins to go and make an impact. He did his job and his time will come. football maniac Posted October 15, 2014 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Just shows football is all about opinions and my opinion is Brown was very wasteful in possession and nowhere near as effective as Morrison. Everyone else for me would get around 6 or 7 with the exception of Hutton who had a poor game. Naisy wasn't playing particularly well but grabbed a goal and we missed his threat when subbed. Solid apart from that Whittaker 4 Bombscare for the majority. but shored up well later on. Brown 7 Great industry, chased lost causes, passes were normally spot on. Morrison 7 Ticked over nicely in the midfield and dribbled his way out of a few tight spaces at times. Linked up well with anya after the double substitution Anya 7 Fantastic take and set up for maloney. Bust a gut getting back to tackle the polish winger and was unlucky not to win the foul. So important to this team. Naismith 7 Once again his final pass/ shot was missing but a great effort to score the goal that put us ahead. Maloney 7 Great finish for the goal even though i felt the keeper could've had it. Had a good chance later on which if he hit it low woudlve been hard for the keeper to save. He saved us from conceding at one point by reading Lewandowski's run and blocking his shot when the rest of the defence and Marshall had almost blown it. An absolute carthorse all the rest playec well apart from huttons mistake.
