Christophe
Decent response to this idea so now going to open it up to votes... *Please PM me your top 10 films of the 80's *Make sure you clearly mark which of your list is your number 1-10, as points will be allocated on this basis *I will take entries for three weeks, so closing date will be midnight on 23rd October *Entries must have had a UK or US release date between the 1st January 1980 and 31st December 1989. Films with other countries of origin which had a release in that country within those dates will be accepted if their US or UK release falls outwith those dates. *Reviews, reasons, anecdotes etc about your selections will be appreciated as i will try to collate these into short reviews for each film that makes the countdown *No tactical voting, use favourites or critically best films yada yada, usually rules... go.... Musketeer Gripweed
Having done a little bit of research, I reckon the 1980's was the last decade I actually laughed. Well, I went to bother of making a list, only to find the OP has a full inbox. Good stuff.

Ludo*1
The best horror films came out in the 80's. My list is dominated by these films which meant some all time classics ended up missing my list.
Quentin Taranbino
Mines was dominated with 'kids' films as that's when I grew up and my first memories of films. Would you class Star Wars and Indiana Jones as kids films?
Ira Gaines
Erm... not really. They're like the comic book movies now. Pretty much all encompassing.
DA Baracus
I don't get the love for Porky's. It's a horrible film with a nasty spirit running through it.

jock001
Does arnie make it? He was huge in the 80's but he doesn't even top the bill for cheesy action films for me. Die hard would rape his dog and shit on his christmas cake.
chomp my root
I had to leave some classics off, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be, I could probably do another 10 films that I love from the ones that didn't make the cut.
Biscuits
I know what my number one is but the rest will need serious consideration....
