Out at the moment we have the following.

Chopper

Nat

Lewis

Kenny

All would probably start if they were fit.

Stewart is also out but has been replaced by an emergency loan.

Deano was on the bench on Saturday but coming back from a period out. Sutherland got his first 5 minutes back after weeks out so we're basically missing the following first choice picks

LB

CB

CB

RB

LM

CM

CF

Throw in the fact that Gallacher won't be allowed to play so we're also missing RM as well.

Shameful this game isn't going ahead.

When you put it like that, they're doin us a favour. Maybe be back to a fullish squad by the time it's played.

We should maybe ask the spfl to postpone some of our upcoming fixtures as we've got more than 3 missing who would have been expected to play some part.

If hearts increase their lead to 9 points that is a big gap to climb.

Ally had better not moan about fixture pile ups again.

Effectively ten with our goal difference. :)

It is covered by a rule: a club can apply for a postponement (the granting or otherwise being at the SPFL Board's discretion) if 3 of the players "who would otherwise have participated" are "unavailable through international selection".

Postponement and International Selection

G7 A Club shall be entitled to apply to the Board for the postponement of any Official Match where three or more of its Players who would otherwise have participated in such match are unavailable through international selection and, following receipt of such an application, the Board may postpone and rearrange the relevant Official Match in accordance with Rule G3.

Today's papers say Cowdenbeath applied to have the match reinstated... as Rangers have no such players, except Dene Shiels on a standby list... but the SPFL have said the postponement will stand.

e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/scottish/gossip/

The SPFL has rejected a bid by Cowdenbeath to have their postponed match against Rangers re-instated after Bilel Mohsni was ruled out of international football through injury, leaving Dean Sheils, who is on stand-by with Northern Ireland, as the Ibrox side's only possible absentee.

Well, perhaps not, and afterall it was postponed last Monday.

However, the question is then - does postponing in advance on the basis of who might be available and might travel meet the 'test' of:

three or more of its Players who would otherwise have participated in such match are unavailable through international selection

Some players become injured/suspended domestically, or overlooked internationally.

There are a couple of Rangers players in the Scotland U19 squad which is playing qualifiying matches in Lithuania this week. I know, you know, and everyone else knows that these guys would not have been anywhere near the Rangers first team, but is it possible that these players could also count towards the total in terms of postponing a match?
