Kevin Nicoll missing on Saturday due to work commitments! Big loss

Hamilton allowing El Zubiadi to play tho

That's a pity he is getting to play. Was quality in leading your back line just over a month ago.

All depends what Montrose turn up tomorrow, if its the same as last week against East Fife then I worry about another beating. In saying that hopefully McKenzie will be back in goals and we look a lot better when he's in there.

McKenzie

Crawford

O'Kane

Campbell

Graham

Johnstone

O'Neill

Watson

Day

Harkins

Wood

Be the preferred line up however we await with baited breath with just on 24hrs to go.

good, open game, plenty of chances at both ends, either side could have sneaked it at the end so a draw probably a fair result.

Arbroath had the better of the first half. We played three at the back and tried to flood the midfield but it didn't really work. They scored a poor and soft goal with their first attack after Paul Watson had come close. Our equaliser was from a lovely delivery of a free kick which just skiffed off Woody's head at the edge of the six yard box. Crawford at fault there, allowing the ball to slide under his body.

Arbroath's second goal was better taken; we were up against it for a while a couple of our players not really up to speed. In particular it was mystifying why Bell was picked when he hasn't played all season, the game totally passed him by, and it wasn't clear what his role was supposed to be. It was no surprise that we were being torn apart down our left hand side time and again in that period.

We really took control of the game in the second half, however, particulalrly after Bell was replaced by Stevie Day. Arbroath are a decent side when you allow them to play, but defensively they are pretty weak, especially from set pieces. And Paul Watson delightfully scored the equaliser from a free kick under the noses of the home support, who'd just been giving him dog's abuse. A real GIRFUY moment.

Montrose defended quite well for the remainder of the game. Few would have admitted it before kick off, but there wasn't much expectation of a result amongst the travelling support after such a disappointing performance in the league game. The players' attitude and application was much better today and, once the correct team was on the park for the last half hour, we were the better side.

Thought MacKenzie was great in goal, making a couple of vital stops and commanding his box well. Gary Wood, Paul Watson and Bryan Deasley were the stand out outfielders, Deasley in particular working really, really hard up front, selflessly, throughout the game. Hopefully this is the start of his form and application from last season, returning.

Looking forward to the replay; it was good to watch such an open game and a close contest, after the Smokies won the first league encounter buy such a huge margin. The worry for me is that they look a yard quicker than us, still, and are a bit quicker thinking in their reading of the game. But if we can show the same attitude and commitment in the replay we have a very decent chance of progressing.

We still haven't lost a cup tie at Gayfield in decades. But after a poor first half we showed the dig to keep our record and keep battling on in the cup for another day.

Shocked that replay going to be next saturday when Scotland playing. This.will result in montrose and arbroath playing a midweek league game in midweek with travelling long distance.

Rumours of the replay being next Saturday, when Scotland are playing at home, when a few of us will be at Ibrox is strange. I know that the Cup takes precedence, but come on.

There will be plenty Lichties at Ibrox next Saturday too, Ecto - myself included.

Surely Arbroath & Montrose can get together and arrange a more sensible time.
