Mitch
I'm heading out to Bangalore to work for 12-18months. Anyone ever been before? I've done quite a bit of reading up but can't beat someone who has experienced it first hand.
welshbairn
Hi Mitch, my name's John, how can I help you today?
Mitch
I'm staying in a place called Palm Meadows which looks fairly decent. What is it like for eating out? Good food? Cost of living appears to be pretty low!
The Woolshed
That place looks really good. Are you put up there for the whole duration?
mizfit
From what I've heard you'l need to prepare for a lot of time on the toilet. Good luck comrade.
Mitch
Yeah put up in my own Villa within that area. The club house part looks the business. Also meant to show quite a fair bit of love football, which should entertain me a bit! Will give that Italian a try! Trying to keep the missus entertained will be tough as she isn't allowed to work on her visa!

As regards your work visa, does it cover the full length of time that you've signed up for? Getting them extended (as well as FRRO residency permits) within India was/is a pain. Most people just say stuff it, and return then apply for a completely new visa (and FRRO permit). Also try and fly direct from Europe to Bangalore. Getting from the international to domestic terminals at both Mumbai & Delhi airports, is a severe test of patience.

Will be flying from Glasgow via either London or Dubai and onto Bangalore. Planning a trip north to Delhi and out to the Taj Mahal. Whilst in that neck of the woods, it would be rude not to pop in for a visit!

Cost of living appears to be pretty low! Hi Mitch. Been to Bangalore twice to visit my sister in law, who was amazingly staying in a villa in Palm Meadows! That place is brilliant; it's not even like you are in India when in the grounds. And the clubhouse is very good. Bangalore itself is great. As was said it's very cosmopolitan. Lots of nice bars. The sky bar is a must do, great view of the city up there. Do you have a driver whilst you're out there? I definitely would not want to drive over there! Enjoy.
