Plus, it cost a fortune, whereas Crossroads was put together from cardboard and sticky-back plastic (and that was just the actors). The Dingles were a horrific 'comic' band of fail when last I saw Emmerdale, the arrival of whom killed interest I still had. Belle, the teenage schoolgirl is currently serving time for killing her best friend. Marlon is the still the gormless lump who found out he had a daughter, April, when Donna came back to the village. Donna had terminal cancer but died in more spectacular fashion and now Marlon is getting married to Laurel amidst all his grief for Donna. Zak used to be the main man who held the family together and was not to be messed with but had a nervous breakdown after nearly beating Cain to death. He's treated with kid gloves now by everyone. Debbie runs the garage and acts if she's the leader of a mafia gang and since getting involved with serial killer Cameron she distrusts all men. Sam is still the village idiot and has been fleeced for thousands by some floosy he met on an adult chat line. Charity is still the conniving bitch who has married a rich guy under false pretences and may be about to get her come-uppance. Chas owns half the Woolpack and has hitched up with farmer James who used to be Charlie Stubbs in Corrie. Cain seems to be going soft after getting together with Moira the Scottish owner of the farm but he's still capable of 'sorting things out the Dingle way'.
