cakedawg
Afternoon, I am currently in process of doing a referee course to allow me to officiate youth and amateur games. Anyone on here on any league committees etc that could introduce me to leagues in the Lanarkshire area?
airdrie utd 2002
Best thing to do is email the league secretaries of which league you would like to ref in an go from there

airdrie utd 2002
Yeah once you pass the course your association usually passes on details of the closest ones to you. failing that you can goto syfa site and find them from there

paul-r-cfc
Looking to possibly begin this course in January. Every Monday for ten weeks. Only issue is I work Monday nights and don't know if I have the time to swap the shift. Would need to drop the shift for ten weeks in which case it would end up costing me a fortune! airdrie utd 2002
Glasgow association is a monday night but i believe Renfrewshire and lanarkshire associations are possibly a Tuesday or Wednesday. Best thing is to goto the referee section on the sfa website and email the associations and find out

It's in the university of the West of Scotland which is a bit of a trek for me. Depends on the times for that and waiting on Lanarkshire getting back to me. Because of the size of Lanarkshire it could either be next to me or 40 minutes away!

jb7
Something I considered doing but was only to add another qualification to my CV but obviously the course is for dedicated people who want to referee so I haven't bothered with an application etc. Fair play for wanting to do it takes a lot of guts to become a referee. I was put off after volunteering to do it at an end of season meaningless tournament and some coaches were very disrespectful so didn't ever go back to it. die hard doonhamer
If anyone is considering doing it I would say go for it. I've been a referee for 2 years now and I love it. I'm awful at football so it's a great way to be involved in the game. The money you get for it is a bonus. If anyone is considering it but unsure feel free to fire me a PM.
