Fixtures and Predictions Sat 6th Sept

Recommended Posts

South of Scotland League (ko 3pm)

Heston Rovers v Newton Stewart - With Newton Stewart flying up the league it's hard to see past them here against a Heston side who are struggling for form at the moment. 1-4

South of Scotland League Cup Round 1

Edusport Academy v Creetown - With Edu now having a full team it would be expected of them to complete a comfortable victory here. 4-0

Fleet Star v Crichton - Both teams will be looking to bounce back from defeats last weekend but I think Crichton just have the edge here. 2-3

Lochar Thistle v Dumfries YMCA - A very one sided match is expected here. Lochar suffered their first defeat after a great start to the season but will start as heavy heavy favourites against a YM side who could be on the tail end off another heavy defeat. 15-0

Nithsdale Wanderers v Mid Annandale - A rematch of last weeks match which finished 3-2 to Nithsdale (Correct prediction from me, no biggie) and I can see it finishing the exact same way once again, but maybe after extra time. 3-2 AET

St Cuthbert Wanderers v Abbey Vale - Saints will be buzzing after last weeks great victory against Lochar and should continue this form into their match tomorrow. 5-1

Upper Annandale v Wigtown - I believe this is a battle of the two smallest pitches in the league so expect a physical game. Uppers have shown they're no mugs, especially at home, and may just sneak victory here but Wigtown will be quaally up for it and will stop at nothing to secure victory. 2-3 AET

Results may well be heavily influenced by teams who have players away to Germany to support the Scots. Can't believe there's actually fixtures this weekend but there you go.

Newton winning 2.1

Honestly at the minute, if you can find a more on form striker than Robert Middleton i'll be impressed.

George has got him up a level and the boys are extra fit. Playing very well in the first half today ????

Davie Irons will do a good job for Dumfries Y.M. Could still easily play at a higher level even at his age.

Thought he was very quiet today expected more from a player of his experience to talk young boys through game

Newton stewart won 4 2. Was a good hard game to watch. Newton were 2 up at half time heston scored just after half time and equalised with 20 to go. Harry Fidler had a fantastic save to keep the scores level. Then the ball fell to inform Robert Middleton to make it 3 2 and in the dying minutes goochi made a fantastic run beat the whole defence and scored. Credit to heston tho they made newton work hard for the victory

Rab's had an exceptional start to the season considering he wasn't necessarily in the starting 11 all that much last year! Seem's to be taking his chance. Everybody knows what a good player he could be and at still such a young age he has all the assets to score a lot of goals. Tall, Strong, Quick and a powerful finisher. Still learning but banging them in… definetely deserves the praise for what he has acheived so far this season.
