HibeeJibee
Take heart, NB... at least 1 of the 3 is guaranteed to actually make it into the knockout rounds this season !! In the south-west group you have to say that on current form Dalbeattie and Gretna must be favourites to finish top 2 and go forward. However a lot could change between now and December and it's never easy to predict derbies, so Threave can't be written-off. It's possible to progress from a 3-team section with 1pt and they play the concluding 2 ties, so you never know. Borders group looks very intriguing with all 3 sides sitting mid-table just now. Whoever copes least well with the derbies could be they who get eliminated. Central A looks the weakest with EK joined by the current 11th 12th & 13th clubs. However all of them will fancy their chances to qualify even as 2nd place to EK, and Stirling must surely come good eventually. If nothing else its got potential interest as they could be close. Central B looks the real quality section and you can't discount BSC Glasgow, as they may still be getting into their stride and could be in better shape with another 3 months worth of games under their belts. Spartans-City and Whitehill-Spartans derbies only add to the intrigue and someone has to miss-out.

tamthebam
I've been to a few Boxing Day matches in Engerlund and the fans dress up in silly costumes- perhaps (weather permitting) we could bring some glamour to City v Welfare.

Mr Hardy
What is the format for the groups, from what I can see only fixtures released so far for one clash v each team in the group, surely must be home and away, but if so what dates set for the rest of group games. HibeeJibee
Fixtures are out for the whole season, so it must just be those December ties. Remember it is all really "padding" to fill-out the season with there not being the full 16 clubs. Last season there were 22 league games + 6 league cup section ties = 28 games... this season 26 league games + 3 league cup section ties = 29 games... logically with 16 clubs no sections at all = 30 league games? (I suppose that could = 31 as everyone could get a League Cup R1 tie). In the EOS Qualifying League, which is sort of like League Cup groups, clubs only meet once. (Except last season). Ditto the Sectionals Cups in Juniors.
HibeeJibee
Ho ho ho... surely not!
Also, a group with gala, selkirk and vale and one of them guaranteed to progress? Cannae agree with that- they're all bottom half and would have been predicted to be there by most at this stage.

HibeeJibee
Will City's game against Coldstream take precedence over the league cup game next week? Don't think so, Lowland competitions have priority over local cup ties. Vale v Gala was waterlogged in October and now frozen in December . Presumably try again in the new year. Ohhh they play us and city 2 local HOME games ? Another farce get it ALL in as well or play 2 legs at least ??? Don't forget the fact that it's done geographically so if I'm glasgow BSC, I'd be right pissed of at being drawn in a group with spartans, city and welfare- IMO the leagues three best teams although Gretna are pushing that assumption. Glasgow must be thinking 'hang on, surely it's all geographical or not at all- can't be just two groups done that way?'
