Wee_albert
The. Albert entertained league favourites Cambuslang at Tileworks park in their first league game of the season. He first half really did not have any great moments of note with both teams cancelling each other out. Both teams worked hard but never really threatened each others goal. The second half was only a minute old when Cambuslang took the lead in contreversal style when a Cambuslang player who was in an offside position played the ball into the path of the striker who scored. This was agreed by the Cambuslang committee but the goal stood. The Albert had the better of the second half could not get the goal they deserved to take a point. The game ended with the Albert on the attack but the refs whistle for a win for There was nothing between the two teams A draw would have been a fairer result but the Albert can take a lot from the game and with players coming back from injury and after playing the favourites for the league this season can be looked forward to. Good luck to Cambuslang and their committee for the rest of the season

JCOLE
royal albert sound as if they have came on leaps n bounds the past few seasons, after cambuslang's preseason trying out a new squad conceding goals for fun, 3 points and a clean sheet can only drive them forward in such a competitive league
Wee_albert
We had a good end to last season, but this league will be very competitive as Cambuslang found out yesterday, I think we were lucky to get Cambuslang early in the season as they do have good players who have played in the higher leagues . But they did win and thats what counts. But I am sure their coaches will know even if some their supporters don't this will not be an easy league to play in. But we will take it week by week and see were it takes us.
thelangonline
Have to say, didnt see too much wrong with the goal to be honest, and Im on the committee LOL Hard game today but the sheer relief from all at Cambuslang, players, management and committee was clear to see. Thats the win we hope will kick start our season. Wasnt pretty, wasnt easy but its 3 points that we are happy to take. Albert will take a bit of beating on their own patch so at the end of the day it was job done now on to the next one. On the contrary , everyone l speak to see's nothing but a struggle for points every week for the rest of the season. We weren't great yesterday, but I thought we deserved all 3 points. Regarding the goal, never seen anything wrong with it.
thelangonline
Regarding the goal, never seen anything wrong with it. Dymock was coming back from an offside position but had his hands in the air and played no part in the move, thats the only thing I can think of that they thought was controversial

Well in my opinion he never touched the ball, but i was at the other end of the park.
Mon The Port
Any reason why Dymock dropped down the divisions after playing in the super premier for Clydebank and Arthurlie? Just curious.
