The Albert finished of their league cup campaign with a draw against Lanark which could have and should have been a win.

The Albert started the game slowly with Lanark having the better of the opening exchanges without testing the Albert keeper.

Them after 22mins Lanark went in front after a clear foul in the centre circle on the striker allowed a hopefull long ball to be played over the top of the Albert defence and a mistake from Cooper allowed the Lanark striker to run in and score. This was not to be the referee last howler of the game.

Lanarks lead lasted only 5mins when Gareth Stokoe was fouled in the box and Fraser Stobbie stepped up and scored.

5mins later Lanark were awarded a penalty which only the referee seemed to see to go 2-1 up. Just before half time Billy McIlhome hit the bar from the edge of the box.

The second half started with the Albert on the attack which was to set the pattern for the half.

10mins into the half the Albert should have equalised when McIlhome was put through but the keeper saved his shot.

The Albert were then on the right end of a bad refereeing decision when a clear bye kick was given as a corner from which Fraser Stobie scored from a header from 6yds,

The Albert continued to dominate the half and made two or three good chances without taking them.

As the whistle went the Albert were disappointed to draw and Lanark relieved with the draw.

At the end of the section the Albert will be relieved to get players back from holidays and injury for the start of the league campaign which starts on Saturday to Cambuslang who in my opinion are a better team than what we have played in our section but with a full squad soon to be available then we should go into the league with confidence.

Well, we all see games differently. I did not think there was much between the teams and we were disappointed to not win.

Whilst accepting that the incident took place out of view of most of those who were standing on the other side, no mention of the action of The Bald Coward.

I noticed from your comments that you also missed out the stamp on our player when he was on the ground by your number 8 who also had a go at our number 6.

There was also no comment from you regarding the referee who your committee said used to play for Lanark.

Apart from that good luck for rest of the season

P.S. Will you be getting a new manager????

I will take this as a tacit agreement that your man did do the cowardly act accused of.

Things happen in games, such as mistimed or even malicious tackles which are done in full view of officials and and the majority watching. You then take your chances but, to assault someone when the play is elsewhere, the majority are not looking and nor is the ref', then that is the act of a coward and should have no place in any team.

If that lad played for Lanark it must have been a long time ago and not relevant.

Wow. Dog with a bone.

Or a touch of pre menstural tension.

Lol lol

Very constructive.

It is far more relevant and indeed important that juvenile comments about the referee apparently having played at Lanark at some point in the dim and distant past.

And you are a coward too for bottling to call it out .

Have to presume you condone such conduct. Good luck to you. You reap what you sow.

It is pompous and self righteous people like you that put me off these web sites.

Well that's me told.

Please don't be put off participating on here because of my unreasonable concerns about an assault. I am sure your objectivity is valued by someone, somewhere.

Dont know about that but i'd say a point apiece was a fair result. Btw what did u mean about lanark looking for a new manager, was the result that bad? ;)

bc57 your slagging off one of the most genuine guys in junior football(not the first time you've had a go at someone from another club) take a deep breath and think about what these guys do every week just to keep their clubs alive.

I suggest you read what I have posted. I have not 'slagged' the poster. No idea who the individual is. If he is as genuine as you say and has the concerns of his club at heart then he should be concerned about the cowardly act that one of RA's players is guilty of.

I have however called out something which is much more important, which appears to be happily being overlooked.

As for your other accusation, call that one out and be just a little more specific. If you take such a keen interest in what I post, I am confident that I have been far more complementary about other clubs, their officials, their facilities etc( including your own club) than I have been critical.

What happened after the game was between the Lanark manager and committee.

But in the cold light of day the manager will be embarrassed .

Takes two to Tango. You are correct but, any discussions should take place behind closed doors and better in the cold light of day. Speaking of which, if I have offended you personally , in any way, with our exchanges then I apologise as, this was not my intention.
