Scottish Sovereigns of the land

I met a guy the other day who told me that he was a 'Scottish Sovereign of the land'. I had heard vaguely of this group, and was under the impression they were a kind of poor mans legal defence team who specialised in stopping bailiffs and the like. 15 long drawn minutes with this chap, followed by some internet research afterwards has convinced me that they are in fact tinfoil hat wearers of the highest order.

In no particular order some of his wild claims were that:

Every law is illegal.

The police are constructs with no legal standing.

The Queen is the head of an international peadophile ring, as well as a satanist.

Pretty much every government department is made up and doesn't really exist, but exists only because we think it exists.

Has anyone else had dealings with this mob?

It all comes down to the use of birth lines in law.and the fact there used in the Scots law dictionary

You do not need to tell the cops your real name or address.if you do they have you

Only works on driving offence and the like were you have not entered a pact or agreement

Yes have know of a few and there fair from tin foil hat merchants there pretty clever

We found this stuff out from my niece who found this out at Uni

It works crooks use it all the time.especially if there drug running and the cops cant touch them all very smart.

Any links? Or is it all hearsay?

Can't help but post that "I smell shite" pic...here it is...

Arguing about the semantics of law and legal terminology is all very well, but I can't help but think it won't cut any ice with anyone. Surely if you could use it to get off with crimes, nobody would be convicted of any crimes?

This idea of "You can't prosecute me because I refuse to be part of your legal system" reminds me of MattBairn asking AdLib in a pub once if you can get off with a crime by telling the cops "I don't understand your law". At least Matt was pished.

Or McGlashan out of Absolutely?

It sounds like somebody’s been given a copy of “My Big First Book of Political Philosophy” and applied the bit about repudiating tacit consent to be governed, tying it in with a dash of extreme nationalism and David Icke-esque nutjobbery.

I have to reply to these nutters at work and their utter nonsense gets them out of nothing. Search "freemen of the land" on Wikipedia to see all the examples of people trying this in court. Always leads to fines and imprisonment.

Basically you claim the person being fined is the fictional entity of you, which is separate to you as a person. Basically utter bollocks.
