SUPERSOUTH
Rangers can only give away clubs 1000 tickets for segregation issues what an absolute joke! GalaKev
Clubs should have 10% of their ground capacity to away fans, thats the rule down south but not here You are incorrect in that. There is no requirement in league matches to give any away fan an allocated amount. In fact at anfield on Saturday the away side only got 1,800 tickets. In FA cup or league cup, there is an amount which must be allocated, but this is only because gate receipts are shared after expenses.
Senior_Coconut
Didn't Hearts have more than that? Yes, but apparently there was problems with segregation at that game. New clubs shouldn’t be allowed to enter the league system if their ground isn’t fit for purpose. On police advice it's been limited to 1000 from now on. http://www.qosfc.com/new_newsview.aspx?newsid=2437

Dougie Mills
How many away fans do QOTS normally take?Depends who/where they are playing! Took over 1000 to Hearts and Falkirk last season but probably nearer 250-300 for run of the mill games. There are obviously going to be more folk interested in going to the big three due to the novelty factor.
Sloop John B
It's unfair that a number of fans won't be able to watch the game because of people who go to the game to harrass away fans. Considering that Ibrox is a elite stadium according to UEFA it should be better equipped to deal with segregation not to mention that lesser stadiums can handle larger away followings with problem. Maybe if they stuck us up in the gods instead of being surrounded on both sides in the corner would be a suggestion or the crazy notion of actually police properly and dealing with the crowd trouble. But otherwise I'll let the rap stylings of NWA sum up my feelings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2YgZX9Thm0
shull
THE NEWCUNTO F.C. have 500 million fans worldwide. Cannae expect them to give any away fans a ticket. Ken Fitlike
So if The Rangers ever play against the surviving member of the Old Firm, Celtic will only get 1000 tickets?
Paco
Aside from Cliftonhill and the Bet Butler stadium, I can't think of another stadium in the country that can only handle 1000 away supporters. What a bunch of diddies.
Skyline Drifter
So if The Rangers ever get drawn against the surviving member of the Old Firm, Celtic will only get 1000 tickets? No, that would be a cup game and season tickets would not be valid so a bigger allocation could be agreed. In any event cup rules require a certain percentage to be made available to the opposition I believe. We are discussing league games here where the only requirement is to give "reasonable allocation" to the away side. We'd be hard pushed to argue that an allocation four times as many as we took to Dumbarton on Saturday and representing about 60% of our home support was not reasonable. hellbhoy
The game last night you could have fitted all the orc mutants into the Govan "Sandy Jardine" stand and still have enough room in it to place the Clyde fans in a safe segregated area in that stand. I do wonder how they actually work out how many away tickets to give to the travelling support whilst still having safety in mind ? IMHO should a cup fixture look like it could be a complete sell out the seating should be around 50/50 with both clubs having two complete stands to their fans alone instead of giving the home club the advantage of many more of their own mutant fans as it is usually a one off affair in cup ties. Maybe you could send the polis a letter explaining things to them and get this silly decision overturned.

Even if ALL rangers season book holders were guaranteed a seat for cup games? There would still be 20 odd thousand spare seats over at the Govan Slum! Not so much segregation and more like degradation issues inside Asbestos Towers methinks.

Why are you being an apologist for this woeful, unfair decision SD?It's disgraceful and indefensible. The fact that more Queens fans wish to see this game than might often be the case, is entirely irrelevant when we know that there will be literally thousands and thousands of empty seats in the ground. It appears that Rangers can't reasonably be blamed for this decision, but if Queens just shrug and accept it, then maybe we can.
