SuperCaleyGoBallistic
Was down working the Open a few weeks ago so had a few nights out in Liverpool. Surprisingly decent actually, you should enjoy it. Have no idea where we went out though.

MangoBroccoli
I went a few years ago with the football team, then again for a stag in 2012. You can't go wrong down the classic Matthew (?) Street where the famous Cavern Club lies. I actually liked it in there. There was a fella doing a shite set and nobody was interested but then he burst into a rendition of "Hey Jude" and everyone was suddenly his best mate, I doubt he had to buy a drink all night. IIRC the street.opens up onto this big square of sorts, where the punters spill out at the end of the night. Always police there. Always an ambulance too. My memory is hazy but we found pretty much everything we were after around that area. There's also a strippers nearby although God knows a) where it is and b) how I got home. Haha, that's probably no use to you but I enjoyed Liverpool both times I've been. Brilliant for a weekend.
welshbairn
The centre's really compact, and there's loads of good pubs, so I'd just go random. The Philharmonic's a famous one, and worth a pint just to look around. My favourite's probably the Midland, always lively with a good mix of people, but I wouldn't order an alcopop. They had 1940's music on loop when I was there..
Musketeer Gripweed
The Bierkeller at Liverpool One is a must, as is Mathew Street, even just to see it I guess. The Cavern is a bit shit though. The bars and restaurants at Albert Dock used to be great, but when I was in the city the other week, it didn't look quite as vibrant as it used to be. MangoBroccoli
Flanagan's Apple is a rowdy little place just down from The Cavern. Ah! That's what it's called! Been trying to remember that one for ages. It's certainly one of the better "Irish" bars.
Marshmallo
Liverpool is absolute filth. In a good way. Some place.
centralTon
The Ship & Mitre on Dale Street, just across from Liverpool One has about 40 draught beers and ciders and over 100 bottled beers. Inn Beer Emporium on Renshaw Street, just along from Lime Street Station also has about 100 draught and bottled beers.
Michael W
I can only vouch for week nights, but the Albert Dock is usually pretty quiet.I wouldn't recommend it. Seel Street and surrounding area is worth a shout too - plenty bars round about there and it's pretty lively. Certainly, if you're looking to get pished you're in the right place. it's hard not to find an area in central Liverpool that's short in drinking establishments.
