Dundee FC vs Kilmarnock - 09/08/2014

Recommended Posts

I know we have Peterhead first but pre-season is killing me man!

Flag day at Dens sees a Kilmarnock side shorn of their 20+ goal talisman visit a Dens Park buoyed by a very busy pre-season and a number of new faces.

How do we think his one will go?

I have been hugely optimistic pre-season but I have an uneasy feeling about the first game and I can see an entertaining draw being played out. Killies new strikers will have a large say in the matter as they have huge boots to fill but both have experience in the SPL.

Saying that if Dundees players all click into gear I feel we have the superior team (particularly in midfield)

Hopefully Killie bring a reasonable support through bearing in mind the numbers we travelled with for opening day of our last SPL stint.

My team:

Letheren

Dyer

McGinn

McPake

Konrad

Ferry

Thomson

Harkins

Roberts

McGowan

Der Panzer

Attendance will be over 6,000 I would imagine.

That's the team i'd go for. Initially i had McAllister in for Roberts, but i fancy that line-up now ( may change again after Peterhead).

I reckon we will get put back down to earth in this one with a defeat, usually that's what happens when a large crowd turns up expectantly with Dundee. I'd take a draw right now to get us up and running. the crowd should be 7000+ for this one i'd say.

1 - 1. Harkins equalising.

We're gonna f**k them up so bad that they're gonna wish we didn't f**k them up so bad.

Your post fits in with your avatar beautifully. Sterling work.

I reckon we'll win this 2-1. Magennis will rip a hole in the space time continuum by scoring two goals. Gary Harkins will score for Dundee, well, because Gary Harkins.

These are the games we need to be winning in order to stay up this season. First game of the season against a potential fellow relegation struggler is a great test at home. Cannot wait!

It would be nice if Killie could return the favour of a couple of seasons ago and bring a healthy away support in the region of 4800 like what we did to Rugby Park. They won't though. They'll bring just over 1000 like the tight c***s they are.

3 - 1 to The Dee.

Disagree. Killie's success (or otherwise) this season will depend on whether we can shore up our piss poor defence. Nobody will likely match Boyd's tally, but if Connolly can continue his pre-season form then we won't be as reliant on a one man goal machine.

I'll preview it properly from our perspective when I'm home from work though.
