East Stirlingshire v Ayr United

Recommended Posts

After today's performance a lot of fans will be down but I'm still fairly optimistic we will win this one. Another striker needed to help out Donnelly should be the target this week . If McKinley is fit we can move Donald up to left mid which would give us huge boost as we lacked his pace upfront today. A big response is needed as today was simply unacceptable. I fancy us to win this by 2 goals so going for 2-0 ayr with Forrest and Mcgovern scoring .

Remind me how it turned out last time we played them ?? ;)

Been up to Stenhousemuir five or six times in the last two or three seasons. Yet to see us win, so I regard it as a bit of a bogey ground now. (Along with a few others around the land). Was at the last game against Shire and we got grubbed 3-1. Was at the previous one also and we got beat 2-1 having been one up with a minute to go, and without the necessity for extra time.

But being a fan is all about the triumph of hope over experience, so I'll try again. We've got to win there sometime. Haven't we ? Hope we've got a few more players in. The squad yesterday was very thin. Roberts putting himself on the bench is always a worrying sign. Could really do with a bit of steel in midfield. Looked rather powder puff yesterday.

It would be nice to stop our habit of recent seasons of leaving both the diddly and the diddly diddly cups early. Cuts off a revenue stream we can't afford to ignore. Specially this year in the one we've already departed.

I'm actually looking forward to Saturday's game and I actually hope that Ayr look at our 7-1 score line against Falkirk and underestimate us slightly.

Against Falkirk we held our own for about 70 minutes before the world caved in, however hopefully we'll have at least 2 of our key and more experienced players back for this game.

Plenty of positives to take from the Falkirk match and although you would probably expect Ayr to progress through this round, I saw enough positives signs to think we'll do ok over the course of the season.

Let's hope that Ayr bring through a sizeable away support and we have a good day.

I don't think i've ever seen Ayr win at Ochilview whether it be Stenny or the Shire. Stenny always seem to rattle one in, in the last minute as well.

The pies are always of decent quality though.

That too was my first regular away trip and I assumed that taking over a town like Vikings and spanking the locals for six was commonplace.... how naive!!! Before then, not really being able to see the the pitch at Shawfield Stadium & not seeing George Best at Easter Road were memorable lowlights. Jim McSherry was my god... god help me!!!

Delighted to read that Bernard & Townsley are back from holiday, that's the news Shire fans have been waiting on.

It's been a few years since I have seen Ayr play, so I know nothing of their squad, however if we play like we did for 70 minutes last week then we do have a chance.

I would reckon the same as above. Only McGill into left wing and Donald into centre mid with Gilmour dropping out. Marko likes sticking to a team that finished well.

Who wants to bet Marko will play today at some point :(
