Edinburgh City lead 3-2 in the series of matches between the clubs, but hopefully the Ants can even things up. City have had a good pre-season so far, including a 2-2 draw against Raith Rovers, so it won't be easy. But if the same Ants team turn up that tore Rob Roy a new one, who knows? Checked out City last night at Peffermill, where they beat Leith Athletic 2-0, the goals coming from Vanson and Stenhouse. But I didn't learn much as it was a routine pre-season workout affair, and quite dull too. Some of the City fans were talking about their Susan Boyle fantasies, just to take their minds off the football. Please don't ask! Was looking forward to seeing their new striker Ross Allum (Hill of Beath) in action. He did come on for the second half but looked tired and his first touches let him down. Or maybe he was thinking about Susan Boyle. Anyway, best up front for City was Ryan Wilson who was allowed a free role and was difficult to pick up. I have no idea what the 2.30 pm kick-off is about - it will catch a lot of people out. Maybe there is something on locally in the Commonwealth Games? As Osama says City have been playing well in the pre-seasons so it will be interesting to see how we play against the Ants.
