In practice the problem is that very little of the Commonwealth is any good at them. Canada and Great Britain & NI (in practice Scotland) have qualified for every Curling event at the Winter Olympics for example, but only New Zealand - and only in the mens and only once - has also ever qualified. Doesn't stop that being in the games..... Could say the same about gymnastics tbh. I don't think curling would ever be in the summer games because bowls is already there but can't see why skating...
