FFC 1876 Posted June 20, 2014 Share Posted June 20, 2014 Obviously I know theres a long time to go and plenty of business to be done before the start of the season but I just wanted to see how prepared everyone is for the new season. So with the players you currently have signed up could you select your best first eleven. For us imo it would be: Bowman Duffie vaulks mckracken kingsley Mcgrandles durojaiye alston Sibbald Grant Loy Aside from us having absolutely no pace in our side which I hope houstie puts right we are in pretty good shape. Although imo we need another five players to be sorted for next season. Hopefully a pacey winger, a goalkeeper, an experienced centre mid, a target man and a pacey striker. DC92 Posted June 20, 2014 Share Posted June 20, 2014 At a guess: Hamilton Paterson McGhee Wilson McHattie Holt Gomis Walker El Hasnaoui Nicholson Carrick There's no way Hamilton and McGhee will be first choice by the time the season starts as a goalkeeper and a centre-back are the top priorities. We're also after another striker, so Carrick's place could be under threat from him or Keatings. I've never seen El Hasnaoui play aside from a few clips on YouTube but he looks like a creative player and he's had a reasonable amount of Eredivisie experience so I'm guessing he'll fill the number 10 role. Walker's place will be interchangeable with David Smith or Billy King depending on form. There's also another midfielder coming in, although I've no idea what type. If it's Buaben then I'd wonder where Holt fits in. If we get the right goalkeeper and centre-back in then I'm optimistic about the coming season. Attacking full-backs, an industrious and technically good midfield, creative forward players and a striker who is ideally suited to the way we play. Depending on which formation McIntyre goes for, we'll start something like Atkinson Mitchell Durnan Dowie Holt Burns McKenna Kerr Russell Baird Reilly Atkinson wont start and McKenna will potentially miss the start of the season through injury, so he'll be replaced most likely by McShane. Nade Elliot We could mix it up a bit playing Hill in defence, Scott on the right wing with Barr in center midfield.
