RobRoyGuy Posted August 24, 2014 Share Posted August 24, 2014 Meechans goal was a cracker what a strike !! Boyd s mazy run from own half was top drawer , took a knock near end of game tho. Kilbirnie had used all subs so saw out game with 10 men Good performance against a gritty Buffs team who fought hard. He is capable of that mate , get him fit and your onto a winner !! Diack seems to be doing fairly well albeit early days. I had beith down as finishing above kilbirnie this season but will be revising that ( though don't think you will finish top 3 ) now looking at your squad . Playing surface has to be one of the best around, and suits the way we play these days. I agree the first half was poor stuff, huffing and puffing. Scored 10 goals in 2 games, 7 of which came in the last 15 mins of both games. Changed to 4-4-2 and steamrollered them. Hopefully with the injured now back we can say ta ta to 4-3-3. Hurlford is the team to gauge where we are, if we can start games like we finish them, we will push them all the way. Hats off to Meechen, boy played 180 mins in 3 days and was still running at the end. Obviously working hard on his fitness away from the match days. It's someone a work with her dad played for us & she mentioned the years he played circa early 50s and since we won the cup in 52 a thought he might have been there or there abouts ?
