We signed him in 2010 from Cowdenbeath and he was our star player that season.

Done his knee in 2011/12. Done his other knee in 2012/2013.

Came back this season half the player. Prone to mistakes.Scared to tackle and is one bad turn away from ending his career. Nice big guy though so delighted he'll be on a huge wage.

I wonder if Ally thought he was signing the 2010 McGregor :unsure2: . Even if he had 1 leg he'd still be better than Moshni so your safe there.

Was a very good player - emphasis on WAS.

Two career threatening cruciate ligament injuries later and he's no longer that same player who burst onto the scene for us. Prone to rushes of blood and mad moments, but I can't deny he will still have something to offer at Championship level.

However, if what we hear is true and he's getting £4k a week, rising to £6k if you go up, no wonder he signed for you doolally fuckers. He's a player I'd be happy enough but not ecstatic to have kept at St. Mirren, provided we were paying him roughly a third of that figure.

All in all, meh. He's very replaceable.

Excellent player, will tear it apart at that level.*

*Not his knee, lolol.

What is not funny about Rangers signing this calibre of player?

No he won't. He's weak physically and needs a defender with an ounce of pace to cover for him when he gets caught out of position (numerous times a match). Him and Moshni as a first choice central defender partnership is utterly hilarious. The fact he's likely earning more than most players in the Premiership just adds to the lol's, as once again one of our key players were still out of contract with the season over, and The Rangers yet again miss out on one of the best players in the country to sign injury prone shite

I agree with most of this. He's a better player than Mohsni, all ends up without question. But if he ever ends up beside him in central defence, then we're in for a fucking fantastic bit of entertainment.

I'd be interested in comments from Midden fans about his capability but, having no knowledge of him beyond what I read, I have three statements:

  • I see we're continuing our Yoof policy.
  • I hope his contract includes an allowance for razor, brush and shaving soap
  • Black T on the day you sign for The Rangers? Get a fucking collar and tie. You're not in Paisley now, chap.

Surely Rangers fans are embarrassed at how diddy they've become.

I'm not expecting the world in terms of signings due to the fact we're in the Championship. Pretty happy with this signing given it's a one year deal and McGregor should be good enough to help us through the division.

Great for Darren, he's a nice guy and I'm happy for him: He should take the new club for as much money as he can, just like the rest of the mercenaries that are ripping them off.

Can't believe they've gave him that much money. I can only assume McCoist hasn't watched him since 2011, he isn't worth half of that salary anymore.

I think and hope we will replace him with a better defender.

What's he getting paid?

Does it not worry you that outwith Law and possibly Bell, not one of the players in your squad looks near top six quality? You've (apparently) not got a lot of money, and you seem to be trying to win the title before 2017, which means your first two seasons back up, you'll need to sign an entirely new squad

There is no fuckin way he's the best player rNgers could have got for 4k a week. The fact he has an option to go to 6k a week is quite frankly ridiculous.

Let's get this straight. He is not a top 6 player. He is not a 4k a week player.

He'll stand out in the first division and brings the experience of playing Gainst the two relegated teams.

The in laws all had a soft spot for him, but that was due to his injuries. Seems like a nice guy, but from a playing perspective he's never going to go in full pelt on a 50/50 with his track record.

This is not building for the future to compete with the other cheek.

Oh, he's certainly better than Moshni. Then again, so is this wooden post.

Look at the post, standing there, defending better than Moshni.

Of course it worries me, and I'd ideally love to see us building for the future, but in our current predicament, I don't think that's possible. It looks as though Ally's plan is to do just that, sign a whole new squad for the season after next and go after European football. Where is the money going to come from for such spending? Anyone's guess.

What?

Decent quality players from higher divisions? I didn't see anyone laughing when they'd signed Law & Bell.

He does indeed get caught out numerous times in a match, but he's certainly not weak physically and is actually quick for a big centre half. His pace and strength get him away with top tier football in this country.

It's not though. It's one year and another year if (when) you get promoted this season.
