Font Of Information
Money I hear, even Newburgh could afford more than Ballingry could offer, but when you consider the travelling involved he was probably better off at Ballingry

This place is full of folk who think they know everything. Its better being frugal with the pennies rather than throwing money at players like St Andrews are doing. Ally9
Was that your view when Ballingry were signing the likes of Bobby Linn? Of course it was but there was no telling anyone at Ballingry that it would end in tears. Everyone else could see that but them. As of now, all the previous 'money men' are away and have been replaced by people who are making sure Ballingry survive in the 1st instance. What they don't need are committee members from other clubs posting about their finances, especially someone from a club like St Ands who have spent a small fortune themselves with very little to show for it. Ally9
really.goes for fans as well surely.how does anybody except St Andrews committee know what they have spent or are spending. Because players, managers & committee members talk to others. Now I'm sure the figures quoted are probably exaggerated but it gives an indication. Lithgae supporters say the same when other teams supporters mention what they pay! The point I'm trying to make is that no one apart from the people at Ballingry know what's going on so I just think committee members from other clubs would be better served concentrating on themselves and not commenting on others. Deadly
Why would Brycey go to Newburgh? Money would not have been the reason he considered Newburgh, so not sure font of information is right saying that. Newburgh's a good, well run club. Bryce shook hands on a deal with the Newburgh manager but then changed his mind which he's entitled to do. Hopefully Ballingry have a good season, and other teams might be better concentrating on themselves rather than worrying about what money Ballingry may or may not be spending. Deadly
What about yourself Dunc, any truth you will be plying your trade somewhere else next season mate? Pulling the boots back on to play ammies next year. A few of my mates play at Fife Thistle so gonna have a season playing with mates, providing I can stay injury free. patriot1
Is there anyone with too much time on their hands who could go through all the threads over the last few years and count how many clubs have been accused of "paying excessive wages" or "buying success"? It's so easy to throw these accusations about without any evidence. I've heard plenty of rumours about other clubs but take them all with a pinch of salt. And as for the nonsense about us!?! jimwhite
Get in the hole - a bit disrespectful to Newburgh with that comment. Especially with a comment like that towards a club that is well run and does everything properly! Disappointing from lee to shake hands with the manager and agree to sign also knowing a fee had been agreed for him! to then turn round and say to ballingry hel stay, without even letting Newburgh no. Doesn't look good on the player, but then again maybe been pressured from people to stay.

It Doesn't matter where the money comes from, if a team are successful then well done them. If that is because they have built up a team over many years then fine; if they have suddenly attracted money from a rich benefactor then fine, well done for attracting that money. What is important is that the club are not left high and dry if the money suddenly disappears. Committees have to be a bit savvy when new income comes in to look ahead and not just assume that it will be there for ever.

Especially when it was only 3 seasons ago he was a first team player at Arbroath. Arbroath to the bottom league in junior football within 3 years...major step down.
