Widge
So here we go again. I have no idea how many of you read or even remember this thread. Well I've only got 1 exam left and assuming I don't study, which is more than likely and don't find myself a proper job any time soon, again another distinct possibility, there is no reason that I cannot go further with this career. It will be following the same principles as the last one, try and achieve success in many different countries, I'm undecided as to where I'll start, so I'll add a pole to potentially influence me, if I decide against it, I'll go there second. (p.s no Serbia this time), I've added a selection of countries to move to, if anyone else has any other suggestions feel free to add them. I'd rather avoid South America and Asia for the minute, since I hate managing there. So here we go around the world once more. Widge
Mexico! I'm quite intrigued by this one actually. Think it might be a goer. I'll be honest I didn't expect folk to pick Scotland. I'll probably not be starting there mind. I'll leave it until tonight and then set it up from where I start. Probably not the best time to start it since I'll be away without internet for 4 days. Although I'll have my laptop with me.

Widge
Why not just open the leagues above and random yourself to a club? Might actually go back to Israel, it's where the story was last in play at the time I had to stop. It'd be nice to go back there I guess, even though I hated it at the time. I still don't know, I'll figure something out.
Widge
Ok, so I decided to take charge of a club this time, instead of waiting for a sacking, chose a few leagues and hit random until I got a lower leagued team. So with that my first stop is to Mexico, to manage - CORRECAMINOS FC - predicted a midtable finish with a decent squad, who knows. Can anyone guess which famous cartoon character their nickname is. so let the adventure begin.

Widge
Season Preview So I've entered the season with no real idea what the hell I'm doing, where the hell I am and what sort of drugs and tequila I can get my hands on. One thing I do know is I've bought a sombrero, I look badass and bandit as f**k in it. That's right, I'm definitely in charge, my hats the biggest, that's how it goes, or so I assume. Now as for the league itself, I'll be blatantly honest, I've not even looked at the other teams or the rules, I'm just going to play the games as they come I guess. Not much else to do really, hopefully my short, quick passing game can work. Think of me as a revolutionary, a cross between Guardiola and Klopp, with Mourinho's personality and rampant dislike for anyone other than himself. I'm sure that'll become evident throughout. Anyway enough about myself (although it's the only thing of real interest in this post), here's he league... Nope, me neither, not got a bloody clue who's good and who's not. Guess I'll find out eventually, although all will fall, mark my words. Again this means nothing to anyone, least of all me, but this would appear to be the squad I'm in charge of... Seems a few decent players I guess, goalkeeper and Nurse, seem to be the 2 I'll build a team around. The majority of them are fecking aging though, and I mean really old. So I guess I'll be changing that, I much prefer youngsters who can be turned into superstars. Much like the last thread, I'll be looking to add favourites to my teams, that I can take wherever I end up. Ohh and one last thing, I will manage Carlos Fierro at some point, mark my words in that too, I will get my man. Widge, over and out!!!! (for now)
Widge
Just a wee comment before I've played 3 months worth to update. The wages in Mexico are outrageous and stupidly high. The league system is as weird as any I've ever encountered and this is by far and away the most infuriating team I've ever had. But it's great fun. I've no idea what the hells going on half the time, but I'll figure it out eventually. Thing is the club and I am going out on a limb and will say all the others too haemorrhage money at an alarming rate. So much so I've switched the finances tab in the home screen off, the red was giving me a sore head. Mind you maybe I should stop drinking tequila in my office at 11 in the morning. At this rate I'll be less like Pep and more like Steve 'Alkay' Paterson.
Widge
Pre-season So I enter my first foray into management in a country I don't know an awful lot about, let alone how the league system works, there's average points, a split table and a cup competition with a group stage against all Mexican teams. I'll admit to winging it slightly, but then again, what's the worst that can happen, I'm quite clearly going to be the best and savviest manager in the league. Just so long as I don't get sun-burn, that could easily affect my authority and overall daunting demeanour.Anyway I'd love to show you a set of transfers in and out, but I didn't make any, the squad is small and aging, but it is still full of quality as I've shown you above. So with a small window of opportunity to get players in and I missed it, there was only a few friendlies arranged, before the league and cups started, so how did it go... Not bad I guess, albeit I've no idea how we played, I had better things to do with my time, as I was snorting coke off some Mexican woman's arse and stomach. Apparently my assistant did well, but I wouldn't know, I speak very basic Spanish and his English is awful. July - September So into the proper season we went. No major signings and nothing worth discussing, other than my abhorrent need to try and be smart with my tactics. Trying to outsmart your basic moustachioed Mexican manager. Sombrero and Poncho in tow, in a half mocking, half serious way. So here we go, Widge's attempt at conquering and outsmarting the world. So these are the results.... Hang on a second......that's not correct. How the hell did my all conquering, tactically smart, technical football fail so badly at first?? Shite start to say the least, it wasn't working. Weren't scoring goals and conceding at the same time is a dangerous mixture, which will always lead to bad results. Anyway out with the new, in with the old in this case. I swallowed my pride and went back to a tried and tested 4-4-2, which interestingly enough, Mexican teams cannot deal with. Now whilst the recent turn up in form is excellent, its not without its downsides. The games are always close and we aren't exactly dominating teams, still Nurse is scoring goals and Ayala is providing them, which is absolutely fine as far as I'm concerned. Long may that continue. So for the tables, I'll start with the Cup... Second place, but we gave a good account of ourselves, finishing about a top league, Mexican team and not far behind another. Definitely a good omen for the future. Now for the actual league... So sitting 5th. It's a close league and I'll admit, I want to win it, I wouldn't be in this for not winning. I'll shitfest, outplay and outmuscle my team to the top. Still I'm happy we are up so high, considering I'm still trying to get to grips with the league as a whole. I should also say, I only recently found out that you can play trialists, so I can fill my squad full of them and if any perform well enough and I can afford them, I'll be adding them as well. Albeit I did offer one a contract and he agreed to sign and I missed the deadline for signings by 1 day. Which means he's in limbo until December. Fucking hell I'm a moron some times. So there we go, if anyone want a stats or a screenshot of players. Jnust ask.

Widge
Widge's going to be a modern day Agustin Iturbide. I can sense it. Never ben one for politics I must admit, but with a sense of power and ambition, I'm going to have this team playing like a well drilled and organised army. Laying siege to oppositions goals and pummelling them into submission. So in this instance, I shall allow that comparison, thus far, I am the Carracaminos General and my troops are heading towards glory, post haste!! RandomGuy.
Good luck Widge! Had a stint in Brazil where the league system is also needlessly complicated, and after a season I was desperate to get out of it and back to normality. Widge
Sorry for the lack of updates. Having just finished I'll probably play it more, but whilst the weathers nice I'm out running a lot. (Ps that's an excuse to check out girls on the beachfront) Well either that or I went off the rails on cocaine and ranted about how Roberto Nurse sounded like a female pornstar and proceeded to punch f**k out of my office walls. Mexican prison has changed me!!
Widge
October - December Ok so I'm still going. I still don't have the foggiest clue as to how the league works, it would appear after almost 6 months in the country I've discovered that the league splits and then the top teams all play for the half way season trophy. I've no idea how anyone gets promoted if that's the case, since you start from zero again!! Still here's the results for the remaining opening stage games... So a reasonable end to the season. A disappointing set of dropped points, but the league is pretty well split in terms of ability. The teams at the top are clearly the best and as such, we were left behind a little as well. I was actually disappointed in a few of my players, I had great hope in the Pornstar striker I had, turns out he's a bit hopeless, well that's maybe harsh considering hes usually upfront on his own and the rest of the players, bar Ayala are pish. Still there tends to be no middle ground with him, its either a hattrick or awful. Give me a striker who can score a goal a game every time. Well here's how the league finished... So a reasonable 5th place finish for my roadrunners. We finished way off the pace, which was annoying, but more importantly we reached the play-off bit to try and win the trophy. Do I think we'll win it, nope, do we have a chance, of course we do. I'll be looking to get higher up the league for the second part of the season. Which will begin in about 2 months. No as you might have noticed from the results bit, we did indeed make the final stage of the play-off thingmy. We carried on our decent from and won with a bit of luck to face the best team in the league in the final. Whilst I know I said it was a bit of a quality difference in the teams, it isn't massive and we were a bit lucky again, that they were missing their best 2 players and goalie through injury. Mind you I was missing my trialists, since I forgot to renew their deals before the games. Oops!!! First leg went as followed... Disappointing. I had hoped to keep it tight and maybe sneak a win, but we found ourselves 2 down before we'd even had a shot on target. I was relieved about grabbing the consolation goal, but having checked the rules, it turns out that the away giald rule hasn't been invented in Mexico yet. So it's the team that finishes higher up the table that automatically wins if its a tie. Stupid Mexicans and their silly unfair advantages to the better teams, damn them. No more helping their economy with my purchasing of tequila any more! So here's the second leg... YASSS!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't need to say any more than this. So with that the end of the opening stage is completed. The teams fucked if I'm going to be honest with you, my wage budgets been cut in half, the money is literally pouring out of the bank and there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop it. Still, the Chivas job popped up on my feed as the manager would appear to about to be sacked. So I'll be doing everything in my power to get it, mark my words once again, one day I'll manage Carlos Fierro!!!

Widge
January - March So we enter the close season in Mexico. It's a new league apparently, we all start again and play for the second league, not got a clue how the hell we get a league winner, or who goes up, but hell we'll cross that at the time it so arises. Now here's the kicker with this team, there is nothing I can do to stop them losing money, I'm running with a squad of 20, with as many trialists as I can in the squad, so I've never got a settled team. Ohh yeah and did I mention the fact that at one stage during this 3 months, I lost all 5 of my central midfielders to injury, gies a break. (You'll be able to work out when it happened) So here we go, I was looking for an improvement on the last half season so to speak... Right it may have taken a while, I'll blame the drugs and alcohol, but I've cracked this bloody country. I came to the conclusion that everyone here is shite, no one can defend, so I went defend deep, the cant get through and get it wide to the wingers quickly, flood the midfield and move it off quickly, short and crisps. By god it worked, what a run we went on, it was outstanding, we played some great stuff. Indeed it worked so well we should easily pass last half seasons total points, sitting pretty and well in the running to win yet another end of half season round robin. Here's hoping we can do a double... So sitting nicely in 4th, above last season and with a nice cushion between us and the bottom half. It's interesting how the league differs, last seasons top team, are not doing very well, teams from the bottom are doing better. In terms of the cup groups stages... Ohh yah fucker, we blitzed it and if you look through the other results, we went on to win in both the quarter and the semis too. Unbelievable scenes. It helps when we played the big teams, the Monterrays, etc, they played seriously weakened teams, but it has come at a price for sure, the injuries are through the roof. I'd imagine that the final does mean something to the big teams, so heres hoping we can give Tigres an hell of a game and upset the odds big time. That saying, I cant see it without any players. I'll get this season finished off soon, but I'm actively looking to leave, albeit American(Mex) didn't appoint me after I'd applied.
