Latino Lover
Since the sticker album came out today I thought it seemed appropriate to start my first thread in many a moon. Starting to put any free bets/bonuses on Spain at 7s and Germany 11/2. I don't like Spain and haven't backed them in any of there 3 tournament wins byt feel after a tricky group they are still a force and Diego Costa is a top striker to have as well, something the Germans may lack. Brazil are too short, I've been burned by Argentina too many times before and I'm not convinced. I think France are an outstanding back to lay at 25s, they should cruise through to the 1/4 I reckon. Portugal are overpriced as well, could see them finished behind Germany in another tough group then beating hipster choice Belgium before an epic Messi - Ronaldo 1/4 final where I would give Portugal every chance of frustrating them and getting through against an Argentine side who have flattered to deceive since there mediocre team made the Italia 90 final, indeed they haven't made a semi since. Yet to really look at group or top scorer betting.

It's between Brazil and Argentina for me, not placing any bets until squads are announced due to injuries to key players etc. if I had to go for a European team then Spain's style of football should be best suited of the Europeans to the climate. Father Dougal McGuire
Fancy a piece of that action. Is Fred most likely to be Brazil's starting striker?
SEETHING
Not a scooby. He was the joint-top scorer in the Confederations Cup, though, so you'd be disappointed if he didn't get any game time!
Marshmallo
When the draw came out I put on a few small e/w top scorer bets Benzema 66/1 - delighted with this one Rossi 80/1 - delighted with this one if he gets fit Reus 80/1 - not too keen on this one, although Germany will spread the goals around Kruse 80/1 - form has dipped since Christmas so this one doesn't look good Also managed to get a price boost on Spain to win the tournament at 10s. ClydeSI
Like Latino says, France back to lay stood out for me when I looked the other week. They would be due to meet Germany in 1/4s I think, so would lay before some before that. neymar was around 14s when I looked. Might have a nibble on that, given brazils group. monthelie'
Fancy a piece of that action. Is Fred most likely to be Brazil's starting striker? According to the South American 'expert' on bbc, Tim Vickery ?, Scolari prefers Fred as his main striker, with Jo being back up.

That sentence doesn't strike fear into me. The confederations cup win v Spain has probably as much to do with brazil being favourites as being hosts. Fraser Fyvie
As said on the ante-post thread I've gone big on Barkley to be in the England squad. Still 1.57 available if anyone fancies it.

berwick-the-unbeatable
Barkley at that price is ridiculous. I might pile on when I get my next student loan #responsible What does the back to lay mean btw? I understand laying but don't get what you mean on this one! I have adam Johnson at 33/1, placed in Novemeber. Got hopeful at the start of the year but the hype around him seems to have died off.

I understand laying but don't get what you mean on this one! They are 25/1. They should get to the 1/4 finals and at that point be around 10/1. a £100 stake at 25/1 could then be layed for a guarenteed profit of around £125. Latino Lover
Or if you laid £100 at 10s you've got essentially a 15/1 free bet due to equity.
