Gordopolis
I don't really understand what not playing him achieves (there is no 'number of games' clause in his contract, is there?) Play the guy, get your money's worth and increase the chances of getting loan enquiries
David W
Probably don't want to play him as he's not a particularly good player.

throbber
He was a good player that never lived up to his potential sadly.
Apache Don
Some of the blame must lie with Hutton then. If he wanted to get his career moving, surely it'd be in his interest to offer to take a wage cut.
pub car king
What sort of state are Aston villa in that 40 k a week is a too earner and giving the guy appearance money isn't viable? He's done nothing wrong and is well within his rights to say f**k ye. If it was me I would have come to an arrangement by now pay me until the summer for example and I'll f**k off
ShawfieldAggro
Is there a transfer fee issue that Villa have tried to sweep under the rug to avoid contoversy?? For a team that spunked gazillions on Savo Milosevic, Stanley Victor Collymore, Juan Pablo Angel, Bosko Balaban among others with the best of them under Ellis, their recent acquisitions, Darren Bent (who also had a similar isse) aside have been for peanuts. Perhaps they just dont want to part with another unneccessary penny for a player (asset) they just dont rate. Lerner did say he sacked Martin Appeal on the grounds he had wasted huge chunks of his transfer budget on Cuellar, Davies and other cloggers who mostly sat on the bench, so it stands to reason every penny is a prisoner with him if the quality he's paying for ends up shite. I'd also hardly expect them to admit they were hard up with a potential £15-20m prize thouroghbred in Benteke turning round and forcing them to accept half of that from a bigger club.....clearly Hutton's not getting 40k a week from anyone else or i do believe he'd be off. Savage Henry
why would hutton care, 40k a week to do nothing? Because people - even sports players - are motivated by more the money. I always suspected this was the case, though, as the guy who plays right back for Aston Villa, Lowton (sp?) is absolutely horrendous.
54_and_counting
I thought he was signed by Mcleish no?
