What's not to like?

A decent redo of countless productions, it will appeal to the masses, plus it's got Cappaldi playing a baddie.

The actor playing Porthos was terrible. Other than that an entertaining enough romp. It does look like Capaldi will steal every scene he is by hamming it up slightly, not quite as much though as Tim Curry in the 90s film version.

I thought it was quite shite tbh!!

This is what I fear. I've put it on series link and I'll then watch several episodes at a time.

I did the same with Atlantis and it turned out to be total mind numbing bullsh*t :(

Agreed he was dreadful, I thought it was a bit strange to cast a black actor in this role to be honest, I'm no expert but I can't imagine there were too many black people in 17th century France and if there were any the chances of them being in the Kings elite guards would be very slim indeed. It 's just that silly tokenism that film and tv makers do now that in all honesty is probably more offensive than not having any black people in it at all.

And before anyone says it no I'm not saying he was a bad actor because he was black, he is just a pish actor.

It was the mockney accent and poor acting that did it for me.

Series 2 was terrific, definitely better than the first. I enjoyed the introduction of Rochefort. Delighted that they're making a 3rd series and that France and Spain will be going to war.

Likewise, was a belter of a series. Some of the acting was hammed up nonsense, but that's what makes it good.

And the lassie that plays the queen would get pumped rotten.
