PrestersKTID
Just flicked through google to see about Fletch's recovery and it seems he will be available for pre-season training. Other articles said he's fully recovered from his condition following surgery. Fantastic news for Darren, Man utd and Scotland if true. If he were to be fit for the upcoming Euro qualifiers it would be a huge boost for the country. Only time will tell if he can recreate his 2009/10/11 peak form but he's only 29 and got a good 5 years at the top left.
Thumper
Only time will tell if he can recreate his 2009/10/11 peak form Time, or two minutes to think about it. And having two minutes to think about it, the answer is no. This goes doubly now that Ferguson won't be so close to him at Man U.

He was at top of his game when he got hit by the virus.
Lex
Great news for United and Scotland. He's the only top class player we have and is a true gent and passionate Scot aswell. If he can get anywhere near his form of 4 or 5 years ago he will comfortably be our best player.

Richie95
David Moyes is a huge fan of Fletcher as he even tried to sign him multipal times at Everton. So just as long as Fletcher stays fit and I think he could be near the first team squad.
Thumper
The idea that Ferguson was in any way favouring Fletcher on the basis of his nationality is stunningly stupid. That wasn't my point at all. Plainly Ferguson has an astonishing ability to get players back on their feet and keep them playing as long as possible, following his own early retirement. He was the best in the business at it. I think Fletcher will miss him badly.

I don't agree with that either particularly though, he's definitely good at keeping players fresh and rotating his squad at the right times but I wouldn't call it an astonishing ability. This, the fact that Ferguson had such a big squad allowed him to freshen players up. Can see Fletch maybe playing Charity shield and cup games next season until he gets his fitness. Distant Doonhamer
Bit harsh, its not as if he broke his leg or ripped ligaments. It was a stomach virus. He was at top of his game when he got hit by the virus. Ulcerative colitis is not a stomach virus. It`s a very serious and potentially life threatening inflammatory bowel disease. Hopefully his surgery will mean he can resume his successful career but it`s a long way back for him. Good luck to Darren. Top bloke.

Savage Henry
Is it really? Did Ji Sung Park play however many games because of his nationality? No, it's because he played a selfless role within a system set out, and didn't complain about playing in different positions. He did whatever was asked of him, however limited that role was. Same with Fletcher. Why does Ashley Young get a game ahead of Nani? Not because he's the better player, but because he fits the system.

In fact he was way ahead in that department. I know he was a determined player but is it wrong to say that in terms of footballing ability and overall skill, he was probably the weakest player in the united starting 11 a lot of the time? Park has no technical ability whatsoever. He's a headless chicken who likes to run into things like opposition players and the ball. Fletcher is about 3 times the player park is/was. None of them had the (albeit limited) ability of fletcher And what? If Fergie had domestic bias, why did these players barely feature for United? Why did he name Milne as his worst ever signing in football? The fact of the matter is your a bitter tim and can't accept that Celtic haven't had a better Scottish player than Fletcher since Kenny Dalglish. RandomGuy.
Darren Fletcher was the best at Man United at what he done. They've never replaced him and thats why the midfield seems so weak

For 1, if you truly believe fletcher had more techical footballing ability than ji sung park then I have to assume your at the windup. For 2, Fletcher had passable ability to not look out of place - but overperformed due to professional conduct and determination to make up for lack of ability... Michael Carrick for instance is a far better player. (all about opinions of course) as for the last bit I cant be arsed getting involved with the old "mon the diddys" carry on.
