He did will at the tail end of last season for Livi.  At that time I thought he would do okay for County if we signed him.  Did diddly squat for Kilmarnock this season though.

There is no other club like Hearts. We don't have players, we have heroes. We don't have a stadium, we have a fortress.
We don't have fans, we have the heart and soul of Edinburgh. This is a dynasty that will live on for eternity.

Quite surprised at this signing. I though Utd would be aiming a bit higher than this?

I went to a few Livi games last season, and he is a 1st division player at best.

that really made me laugh tonight, boulding was signed by us pre season, played 2 or 3 games, and clearly had no footballing ability whatsoever. disappeared before being binned during the window. it really is a wtf? signing by utd

An absolutely awful signing! I said at the time I was very surprised that Kilmarnock signed him from Livi. Bit of a target man, but he makes Colin Nish look decent barring his tiny purple spell last season.

It's a short term signing to cover for Johnny Russell's injury. No more or no less than that.  He would probably be all you would get considering the circumstances. If the signing was for anything longer than end of the season I would question it.

How this boy keeps getting signed I don't know.  He never did anything for us.  I can't say he's a bad player to be fair as I never saw him kick a ball.

Was going to ask if he's shite but I think I've got all I need to know now!

He's been signed as cover, possibly to fill in for Daly on Saturday as he's out for a couple of weeks.

Naw chance he's here long term, gone at the end of the season.

Not a good player, albeit hampered by his inability to play with his back to goal in our system.

Would be very very surprised if he scores even once for Utd.

In the space of two weeks I have heard from two different reliable people say Kilmarnock are in deep trouble.
The first person told me the tax people are ready to pounce for unpaid bills. The next person ( banker ) has told me the bank are also calling in their debt. My understanding is Kilmarnock have to fix both these problems before Christmas.

Kilmarnock Football Club has today completed a deal to clear its debt, the club's Chairman Michael Johnston announced this evening. (14/03/14)

He's horrendous.

We played a 17 year old winger up front instead of him.

I'll reserve judgement 'til I've seen him play. Certainly he appears to have been highly regarded at the end of last and did enough to convince Kilmarnock to offer him a three year deal. Obviously it didn't work out there but he's still only 24 and wouldn't be the first player to be written off prematurely (I particularly recall Steven Thompson being mostly awful for United for six years before it all clicked in his final season at Tannadice.

And if he's pish, no great loss. We've only got two senior centre forwards at the club and both are injured so he's likely a safer bet than relying entirely on someone from the youth team.

You may well be right but it doesn't say much for Shiels that he gave him a three year contract.

And it says even less for McNamara that having seem him fail at SPL level he decided to sign him.

Yes but Dundee United have signed him until the end of the season after he impressed on a trial.  More than half the Ross County side have failed at the SPL level at some point.  It isn't that bad a signing, for cover reasons.  Kenny Shiels obviously must have seen a player in the boy as well to give him three years.

It was a one year deal with option for further two based on appearances.

It was our option.

He put in a shocker of a tackle on Paul Lawson, got a red card last season, as I recall.

No need to be so touchy toots. We're past the end of the transfer window and are desperately short of a serviceable centre forward. If he's pish he'll be gone without a pay off come May. McNamara is working within straitened circumstances, not so Shiels when he threw a three year contract at the chap. We all know how intoxicated Killie fans are by Shiels' unique 'charms', I was merely pondering whether such an awful faux pas had shaken their faith.

He's a stopgap. We need bodies, we can only sign free agents, and I would guess his wage would be relatively low.  Worst case scenario, he's utter pish and he'll be gone in 10 weeks. No biggie.

As has been pointed out, he was given a one year deal, with an option for us to extend it.

If I was a Dundee United youth player I wouldn't be too pleased that my manager has signed an average First Division player instead of giving me a chance. It's not like GMS isn't going to create chances.
