HibeeJibee
This mighty tournament had rather a revival last season, with some teams fielding almost their first XIs and reasonable crowds. It also gives East Fife a chance to get in on the SFL1 Fife love-in of this coming campaign, while Burntisland Shipyard are now no longer in amateur football but the EOS League. In the coming era of Scottish footballing austerity, every game and every gate helps, too. We known Burntisland host Cowdenbeath in the Preliminary... anyone know the rest of the draw? And news on dates? Last time SFs/Final were before international Saturdays, Preliminary was early August.
HibeeJibee
I've a fairly thorough... albeit by no means complete... listing of Fife Cup results from WWII onward, and that 2-2 Semi-Final versus Dunfermline on Wednesday 25th October 1989 is the only one where they managed a draw. Infact there's only about 1-2 instances where they don't lose by 3+ and very often it's an utter thrashing. They only joined the Fife(shire) FA in 1931. Having checked pre-WWI on ParsDatabase (albeit incomplete), Raith's "Always Next Season" and the useful EF website (http://corstorphine.tripod.com/historian.html) can't find any wins. Burntisland's website only includes the 2-2 among famous results. So it wouldn't surprise me if they've never won a game in 80yrs.

Raith Against The Machine
I hadn't realised the Shippy had never won a game. I wonder if any the teams have consistently entered the same tournament with so little success. Could someone refresh my mind on why it's only the Shipyard who play alongside the senior teams? HibeeJibee
They're the only Fife non-league club in SFA full membership, and traditionally such sides also joined their local county FA. If you go back in time some other sides did enter - of course back-in-the-day you had other Fife SFL sides like Lochgelly - and St Andrews University were still playing in it post-war, IIRC. Their standard may improve going forward as they've left Fife amateurs to join EOS League.

cowdenbeath
Looking like Dunfermline's SF and the Final will be held-over to 2013-14, then? Never heard anyone mentioning it HJ probably as PotM mentioned above due their other problems a Fife Cup game would have been the last thing on their mind. They had a lot of under 20 games as well recently so maybe just run out of time to fit it in.
