Trying to access an 'old skool' 3.5 inch disk but am getting this warning message

"A:\ is not accessible

The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"

Any ideas ? I've tried disks that I know have data.It sounds pretty severe though ! :(

If anyone needs any further info please feel free to PM or email me.

Thanks

Dodos aren't extinct, they've just gone away and forgot to leave a forwarding address

If you're certain it's the diskette that is faulty and not the drive then try this:

Bad Copy Pro

I've used it before and it worked for me.

In that case I would take the disk(s) into work and burn the files onto a CD-R or transfer them back home by e-mail or on a pen drive.

Or, you can buy a new floppy drive for as little as £3.50
