We've done quite well against Hearts of late but that doesn't count for much.
Our recent performances have been erratic but generally good. Hearts have been soundly beaten by Celtic and Motherwell but no shame there as both these teams are flying. However the beat St Mirren comprehensively, a team we could only draw with at home.
As we get closer to the split games like this take on added importance. In the last couple of seasons we have performed better in the second half of the season than in the first half. If we approach this game as we did the Killie game I think we can take all three points.

It's an interesting one.
As you say, over recent years we've gone on a run round about this time which has seen us end up in the top 4, and the wins at Ibrox and last night are hopefully the beginnings of this again.
Not too worried about the St Mirren game - every season we seem to have a team we struggle to beat. Hamilton Accies are the first to spring to mind, and if I remember correctly, we also got pumped twice out of 3 by Gretna!
Games against Hearts are always 50-50, but I'm fairly confident!

The form we are in ATM and with our best players either suffering vlad flu or been sold, I will be happy with a draw.
Dundee U are a good team and seem to be getting better as the season progresses. a their cup win against Rangers shows.
Hopefully, we start with two up top and have a right good go instead of Elliott up top on his own.

My word.
I'll stick for my normal prediction;
Elliott up front on his own: Hearts 0-0 Dundee United
2 up front: Hearts 3-0 Dundee United
Hammill at right back (Is he back from suspension?): Hearts 0-2 Dundee United.

United seem to be kicking into a bit of good form as the business end of the season approaches, hopefully Hearts' home factor will cancel it out. Praying for a draw from this one.

Not too optimistic about this or any game for us at the moment
We make scoring goals looks as complex as Craig Whyte's book keeping.

Most Hearts fans in here which talk shite when it comes to our fixtures/results bore me.
This one can easily go either way.

Is it me or is Kello not being allowed because he wouldn't be forced out the club? Didn't Eggy get sold to Wolves? Didn't John Sutton get loaned to some Aussie team?
Three key players who'd walk into most SPL teams.
Still think we have a squad capable of beating Utd but on current form I will take a draw.

I'll be pleased to see a home game, on a Saturday, with a 3pm kick-off time.
If we can manage to get a 2-1 win as well, I'll be over the Moon John.

Score draw, 1-1.
It will be end-to-end in the last ten minutes I reckon.

I see United sold out their initial allocation of tickets, with the Jambo`s sending up another batch, so sounds like it`ll be a decent travelling support. Will be first game I`ve missed for a little while, would love to go but finance dictating otherwise I`m afraid.
Hope United go and attack Hearts from the off. We`ve started to improve at the back as well. Any result possible really.

1. If you really think that will be the scoreline you should mortgage your house and place a bet with the bookies; you will get good odds. If you do the next time I come through to Tynecastle I promise to buy a copy of the Big Issue from you.
2. Anyone who still makes a Hibernian reference to Dundee United is a knob.

Have not heard it from anyone other than a Hearts or Rangers fan TBH. Chronic patter, just like the diets, etc.

Kello wont sign a new deal and someone that has is being played in his position, hardly an unusual situation.
Eggy was sold to a premiership team. A team he was happy to sign for.
Sutton wasnt getting a game for us most weeks never mind walking into any other teams.

Both Andy Webster & Paul Dixon suspended for Saturday. Dixon is a big miss for United, been playing really well & unlucky not to get a call-up to the Scotland squad. Has most assists in the league I believe.

Given this I thought Houston would have given Douglas a bit of a run out on Tuesday.

Yeah he seriously lacks game time, could easily have given him the last half hour.

I like when we play Dundee United. One of the better teams in the SPL to watch and there's been some good games between the two sides over the last few seasons.
Bit worried with Andy Webster missing with the forwards United have. Could be time to stick Gowser in at centre half.
I'll be optimistic and say 2-1 to Hearts but I can see us getting beat.

Fancy us to win this one. Far too many piss poor performances lately, signing and hopefully the appearance of Beattie will give us a lift.
2-0 Hearts.
2-0 Hearts.
